Notability of :Centrozoon

leftHello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on :Centrozoon, by {{#ifeq:{nom}|1|{nominator} (talk · contribs),}} another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because :Centrozoon seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting :Centrozoon, please affix the template hangon to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Stars In Battledress (band)

This article desparately needs some sources showing the band's notability. Without them, expect it to get deleted in fairly short order. Exxolon (talk) 00:24, 22 October 2008 (UTC)

The Cardiacs page

Yes sorry for taking the whole thing, did only intend to change the top back, but like i said i was in a rush (on my way to my most recent audition), therefore didn't think and did the fastest thing i could think of, so sorry for that, recking all your good work, truely sorry. But thankyou kindly for so being understanding, and leaving the top as it is, and for your kind words.

all the best —Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.68.129.175 (talk) 23:05, 13 November 2008 (UTC)

Yup

A mythology page would be great aswell as some audio samples of the tunes (maybe one from each release?), and some pictures of the band, one at the top in the box of course and some showing how they've changed in terms of dress etc.

Yeah cool. x

Spratleys Japs

How about making a really nice Spratleys Japs page? As you know loads about all this stuff. Just talking about how Tim made the band with his ex lover Jo Spratley etc.

Maybe a personal life section on the Tim Smith page too?

Cardiacs discography

Could you please give cardiacs a proper, separate discography. And maybe a little videography one too, as there is only two vids and possibly more to come.

It might be nice of there was a separate discography link on the tim smith page too, that includes his list of producer work aswell as his cardiacs and nymphs and japs albums etc.

please please man (----)

Oh Yes!

I agree with the above! You've reshaped these pages all for the better! Gor for it! It'll make Cardiacs and Tim's pages look so much better if they have their own discography links to access. (----)

Pronk page

How about a proper page for the Pronk music genre? Like there are for math rock or heavey metal? It has an ok little section on wikipedia (that covers the important facts), but i think it deserves i bigger one like the others, cos if death metal deserves a big page then Pronk certainly does. Cardiacs inventing Pronk whether or not they are a prog punk band or not (i've always thought of them as psychedelic pop myself), the fact that they still have created a style that has influenced hundreds should be acknowledged properly. The influence on nu metal and avant-garde metal and math rock is huge - battles, mr. bungle, tool, blur, display team, silvery, pixies, oingo boingo, oceansize etc blah blah, on and on...

I really like your work with article building. Do you think you could make a page for Greaves & Thomas, the wonderful and unique globe retail company? With an info box and whatnot. And a small one for the company's key man, James Bissell-Thomas. I can fill in the info once the page is made as i'm a big fan. It's actually startng the pages i find impossible to do.

Could you help with this? I think it's important.

Categories

You are not supposed to add a category if a sub-category already exists. I have been told off about that before. So if a composer is already in the category English Composers, you don't add British Composers too because English is more specific than British and the English Composers is already in the category of British composers. I am removing the British Composers edit in the edit that you reverted. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sweetie candykim (talkcontribs) 23:38, 3 August 2009 (UTC)

London Wikimedia Fundraiser

Good evening! This is a friendly message from Chase me ladies, I'm the Cavalry, inviting you to the London Wikimedia Fundraising party on 19th December 2010, in approximately one week. This party is being held at an artistic London venue with room for approximately 300 people, and is being funded by Ed Saperia, a non-Wikipedian who has a reputation for holding exclusive events all over London. This year, he wants to help Wikipedia, and is subsidising a charity event for us. We're keen to get as many Wikimedians coming as possible, and we already have approximately 200 guests, including members of the press, and some mystery guests! More details can be found at http://ten.wikipedia.org/wiki/London - expect an Eigenharp, a mulled wine hot tub, a free hog roast, a haybale amphitheatre and more. If you're interested in coming - and we'd love to have you - please go to the ten.wikipedia page and follow the link to the Facebook event. Signing up on Facebook will add you to the party guestlist. Entry fee is a heavily subsidised £5 and entry is restricted to over 18s. It promises to be a 10th birthday party to remember! If you have any questions, please email me at chasemewiki at gmail.com.

Hope we'll see you there, (and apologies for the talk page spam) - Chase me ladies, I'm the Cavalry (talk) 22:15, 12 December 2010 (UTC)

Being Human

Hello! Are you still interested in articles for Being Human characters? I'm aware that the discussion of splitting off character articles was started over a year ago, but I have started an attempt at doing this myself with the Annie Sawyer article. ArchAndroid credits

I reverted your edits to the article's track listing. I made the track listing a while ago, adapting the credits from the album's iTunes LP (basically a reprint/copy of the physical release's booklet), and the changes I reverted do not show up there. If you want to verify this, here's a link to the download (hope thisnt spamming). Dan56 (talk) 19:59, 1 July 2012 (UTC)

Being Human characters

Hey, saw your message on the talk page of the list of BH characters, i'd be interested in working on splitting them off with you, we could start sandboxes for them and begin working on them over the next few weeks, probably best to only create them for the main cast like George, Annie, Nina, Mitchell, Tom, Hal and Annie and make sure they have enough OOU info before splitting them off. D4nnyw14 (talk) 20:55, 11 February 2013 (UTC)

:Yep, i knew there was an Annie page, the work is good on it, all the sources are from reliable places which we could look at to begin with. Probably best to copy and paste the Annie page in to a sandbox and then work on it there, i could make the sandboxes in my userspace or would you prefer to create them in yours? Proposed deletion of Tony Harn

Image:Ambox warning yellow.svg

The article Tony Harn has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

:Couldn't establish WP:NOTABILITY

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the proposed deletion/dated notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing proposed deletion/dated will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Danny Wilson Reunions

Hi Dann, the Danny Wilson reunion performance last month motivated me to finally learn how to edit Wikipedia. I made my first edit today, and I think it was to your content. On October 30, 1993, I attended a "Gary Clark and Boo Hewerdine" concert at Queen Elizabeth Hall where the full Danny Wilson group performed. (I have all three signatures on a flyer for the show -- would be happy to email it to you if you'd like a copy! Until last month I figured I had the last DW signatures, as I was the last fan backstage, if that was really their last show together.)

A Boo Hewerdine page http://www.boohewerdine.net/tour/1993_tour.htm shows the 1993 show (in fact, it would seem likely Kit and Ged did at least the rest of the shows that week with them as well), and shows no 1995 shows with Gary Clark. So I decided the show you listed must have been the one I was at, and corrected the info.

Thanks for all the joyful info you've added to wikipedia -- it's great to learn more about these bands! John.stith (talk) 01:57, 15 October 2014 (UTC)john.stith

A tag has been placed on :Landspeed Loungers requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Scott Walker eight years ago

This edit sequence of yours introduced a couple of sources, one which I am having trouble verifying. Can you tell me more about the Mojo article written by Ian Harrison? I could find no trace of it online, despite a publication date well into the digital age. Proposed deletion of :David Hurn (musician)

File:Ambox warning yellow.svg

The article :David Hurn (musician) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non notable musician.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the proposed deletion/dated notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing proposed deletion/dated will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Sandbox

Please note that pages in your personal sandbox, such as User:Dann Chinn/sandbox, are not allowed to be filed in mainspace categories as if they were already finished articles. The page must stay out of any and all categories while it's in sandbox, and may have categories added to it only if and when it's actually been moved into mainspace as a real article — and no, adding it to categories while it's still in sandbox is not how you make it a real finished article, either.

As I've had to remove the page from categories three times this month alone following four times in 2022 and 2023, and several other editors have also had to do the same on multiple occasions in the past as well, note that there may be escalating consequences if it continues. The page must stay out of any categories while it's in sandbox, and that's not an optional rule that you're at liberty to disregard. Thanks. Bearcat (talk) 17:12, 20 February 2024 (UTC)

:Hi Bearcat. Thanks for letting me know. I was unaware that category additions in sandboxes went live across the active site, since I assumed that they stayed as isolated as other sandbox content does prior to publication.

:Consider me corrected in my assumptions, and I apologise for committing an unwitting nuisance. I shall remember not to do this in future endeavours. Also, if anything similar happens in the future regarding another aspect of functionality/nuisance, please contact me in the first instance and I shall correct it and take note. Meanwhile I shall check up on other aspects of sandboxing which I might have missed. - Dann Chinn (talk) 13:51, 21 February 2024 (UTC)

no wp:self published source

Per the discussion at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Albums/Archive_46#Piero_Scaruffi_-_Final_Verdict_on_using_him_as_a_source_in_reviews there's a very clear consensus here that Scaruffi is not to be used as a source in music/album articles in any capacity. So please, do not add his opinions anymore. It is a wp:self published source. Since this is a long running dispute, any contributor warned by the situation and who doesn't respect it, would encounter sanctions and could be blocked from editing. Thanks. You've been informed because you used this source here. Woovee (talk) 22:01, 6 July 2024 (UTC)

Discogs

Hi, Dann Chinn! Thanks for your hard work creating music-related articles! I wanted to point out that because Discogs is user-generated, it is considered generally unreliable. As you create articles, make sure you're using reliable, independent sources. :) Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 02:02, 4 September 2024 (UTC)
