[[:Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Devon Brooks]]

Hello {{BASEPAGENAME}},

It seems to me that an article you worked on, :Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Devon Brooks, may be copied from http://motivatedonline.com/author/devon-brooks/. It's entirely possible that I made a mistake, but I wanted to let you know because Wikipedia is strict about copying from other sites.

It's important that you [http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title={{urlencode:Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Devon Brooks}}&action=edit edit the article] and rewrite it in your own words, unless you're absolutely certain nothing in it is copied. If you're not sure how to fix the problem or have any questions, there are people at the help desk who are happy to assist you.

Thank you for helping build a free encyclopedia! MadmanBot (talk) 16:43, 1 October 2013 (UTC)

I'm not sure if I'm supposed to reply here, but when I look at what the report is on what exactly is being copied, it appears to be quite basic phrases. I will do my best to change things to not be copied, but it is biography and facts about this girl's life/career, so it will be hard to not use some similar wording.

Image:Ambox warning blue.svg Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that the username you have chosen, "Devsdevevelopmentteam", seems to imply that you are editing on behalf of something other than yourself. Please note that you may not edit on behalf of a company, group, institution, product, or website which relates to the entity in question, and Wikipedia does not allow usernames that are promotional or accounts that are shared. If you are willing to use a personal account, please take a moment to create a new account or request a username change that represents only yourself as an individual. You should also read our Conflict of interest guideline and Plain and simple conflict of interest guide, and remember that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. Alexf(talk) 12:22, 2 October 2013 (UTC)

Hello - thank you for this information. I have re-read the conflict of interest information and will reach out to third party groups to see if there is anyone interested in writing about Devon instead. I hope that fits within the guidelines as after reading what qualifies a 'notable individual' I believe Devon is quite notable, so it will be a matter of finding someone impartial to write this article. Thank you.

:Fine. Please request a change of name for this account or abandon it and start a new one (your choice) as this username is in violation of the username policy (as stated above) and will be closed soon. Please remember to sign your posts in talk pages with four tildes (~~~~). -- Alexf(talk) 17:18, 2 October 2013 (UTC)

One final questions, Alex. When I was starting to create the page yesterday, it said that if I did it in the draft format on my account, rather than creating a page straight to publish, that it would save and I could tweak it before submitting it for review, etc. So why was it just automatically deleted? There was some non-copied work there that it just cataloguing information. Anyway to retrieve that? devsdevelopmentteam (talk) 18:08, 2 October 2013 (UTC)

File:Information.svgThis account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because your username, Devsdevevelopmentteam, does not meet our username policy.

Your username is the only reason for this block. You are welcome to choose a new username (see below) and continue editing.

A username should not be promotional, related to a "real-world" group or organization, misleading, offensive or disruptive. Also, usernames may not end in the word "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account

You are encouraged to choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines and create the account yourself. Alternatively, if you have already made edits and you wish to keep your existing contributions under a new name, then you may request a change in username by:

:# Adding {{tlx|unblock-un|your new username here}} on your user talk page. You should be able to do this even though you are blocked, as you can usually still edit your own talk page. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "E-mail this user" on their talk page.

:# At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.

:# Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names. The account is created upon acceptance, thus do not try to create the new account before making the request for a name change. For more information, please see Wikipedia:Changing username.

If you feel that you were blocked in error, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{tlx|unblock|Your reason here}}, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. Alexf(talk) 13:34, 7 October 2013 (UTC)
