Hi, and welcome to WikiProject Middle-earth. I saw your additions (if that's the word) about characters' absences from certain productions. Absence is an odd thing because critics and scholars often don't mention it, though in the case of Old Man Willow the article in fact contains several instances where scholars have exactly remarked on it, and we've cited them. Basically, we can't say anything unless there's a reliable source (WP:OR and WP:RS are the relevant policies), so I've hidden your edits/additions/subtractions for now. And we have the bases pretty well covered on adaptations for these characters already, the "main points" clearly made. All the best, Chiswick Chap (talk) 08:29, 4 April 2025 (UTC)

:Hmm ... The Wiki page for the BBC radio adaptation already states that Old Man Willow and Tom Bombadil are missing, and has at least two citations supporting this.

:Also, the Absences sections give no obvious indication that they're only for "main points". From my point of view, the BBC Radio version should be considered significant because 1) it's indisputably the longest-running of all non-interactive versions of TLotR, and 2) it's arguably one of the most faithful. If the longest-running and (again, arguably) most faithful adaptation omits these two characters, is that not noteworthy?
