Matthew Drummond
Hi Drmies. I've been tracking User:Matthew John Drummond for a little while. I have WP:CIR concerns about this user, who appear to be quite young and has struggled significantly to understand how Wikipedia works. They have been putting some serious WP:BLP violations into Draft:Matthew Drummond - that draft is another one that entirely unsuitable for Wikipedia, in my opinion, and potentially should be deleted under BLP. Opolito (talk) 18:02, 12 May 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks. Well, given the alleged age I don't think that's a valid reason for deletion--unfortunately, perhaps. Perhaps others disagree. But I share your CIR concerns and this morning I was thinking that indeed maybe we should put a stop to it. Drmies (talk) 21:14, 12 May 2025 (UTC)
- {{U|Opolito}}, a number of their drafts were accepted. I'm looking at a few of them and I'm not impressed. Please look over some and tell me what you think. Drmies (talk) 21:17, 12 May 2025 (UTC)
::Thanks. I'm taking a look at some of the earlier created articles. The first one I looked at is Kitty Clive (TV play) which had a number of references which were either missing or about a different subject. Once I'd cleaned it up, the two remaining sources are extremely trivial mentions, indeed so trivial I can verify that they are even about the TV play itself. I've PRODed that article. It should never have been moved from Draft into mainspace in my opinion. I'll look at others. Opolito (talk) 21:53, 12 May 2025 (UTC)
::On the other hand The Ten Commandments (1971 TV series) is probably okay - I can find meaningful reviews of this series in British newspapers, so it does pass WP:GNG even if the article itself needs cleanup. Similarly Marie Stopes: Sexual Revolutionary does need work, but there is significant coverage of this one in the press, so it can meet WP:GNG. In both these cases Drummond has badly messed up the sourcing and a lot of what is written there is not encyclopedic. Despite these being notable enough to be covered by articles, they don't assuage my concerns about CIR. Opolito (talk) 22:09, 12 May 2025 (UTC)
:::From Matthew's editing patterns I can tell he's focused almost entirely on English actor Peter Sallis - nearly all his edits are about Sallis, and all his new articles are shows and films that feature him in some way. While there's nothing inherently wrong with this, as we all have our topics we focus on, he does seem to have gotten overboard on Sallis' article by adding a lot of shows and movies he was in by just citing a searches he's made on the [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Sallis#cite_note-BFI-9 BFI website]. It seems to have bloated the page far beyond what's actually notable about his career into more of a detailed IMDb page, along with citing the same page in different references [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Sallis#cite_ref-21 over] and [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Sallis#cite_ref-51 over] again. Harryhenry1 (talk) 06:39, 19 May 2025 (UTC)
::They've just recreated a draft you rejected, Draft:Rocky Hollow, under a different name as Draft:Rocky Hollow (TV series). I'm not sure what all the rules are when it comes to the draft stage of articles, but this seems a little duplicitous to do. Harryhenry1 (talk) 06:34, 19 May 2025 (UTC)
The Ink Spots Article is Inaccurate
Footnote 16 is inaccurate or incomplete. The term "Ink Spots" has been and remains a registered trademark since 1984. It initially was owned by the Hanover Group, Inc. because of its agreements with Jim Nabbie, who succeeded Bill Kenny as lead singer. Nabbie, was leading the group when the trademark application was filed. The name has remained registered since 1984, with the sworn application serving as uncontested evidence of ownership to date. Pursuant to the USPTO, the mark is INCONTESTABLE at this time.
- Declaration of COI: I declare I have a Conflict of Interest. I have represented the Ink Spots above as counsel, and written songs and produced recordings with them. Kindly correct the article, or make it more complete ASAP. In the event this is a problem, kindly advise here. Thank you in advance.
- It really doesn't matter. Your primary source cannot outweigh the secondary sources that are cited in the article. Also there's no need to speak so formally. Drmies (talk) 19:01, 17 May 2025 (UTC)
- Wikipedia does not mandate a casual tone. The Manual of Style encourages clear and accessible writing, but both formal and casual tones are acceptable. I would appreciate it if we kept this discussion professional. Thanks for your cooperation. And yes, if a primary source is surrounded by reliable secondary sources, it is important. Kindly review the rules.{{pb}}Here's a secondary source. I will post more... then edit the article.Laurence Staig, "Obituary: Jim Nabbie," *The Independent*, September 16, 1992. Available at: [The Independent](https://www.the-independent.com/news/people/obituary-jim-nabbie-1551960.html). JammerPro (talk) 19:06, 17 May 2025 (UTC){{pb}}Please review in light of what was supplied here and on your site. Confidence in the Article is misplaced. It would be improvident to contend that a Registered U.S. Trademark is trumped by a newspaper article, or a case that did not involve Jim Nabbie, several years prior to the registration. Review defamation by omission. JammerPro (talk) 21:20, 17 May 2025 (UTC)
- My talk page requires a casual tone, JammerPro. I'm going to blank that entire section below: you need to take your case to the talk page, and look at WP:PE, where you will see a link to a page on how to do edit requests, since you are an involved editor. Drmies (talk) 17:58, 19 May 2025 (UTC)
- Tnanks for your reply. I wanted to interest all editors of The Ink Spots Article, as several are no longer viable. Because you posted on the Ink Spots Article, I wanted to be sure you were aware of what I was posting in return. Please know I revised my talk article as there were some oversights, which have been corrected regarding Fuqua. Best wishes. P.S. Wikipedia talk pages are meant for constructive discussions about improving articles, and editors have some discretion over their own talk pages. While Wikipedia does not mandate a casual tone, some editors, like you, prefer informal discussions on their personal talk pages. An editor may remove comments from their talk page if they find them disruptive, off-topic, or unnecessary, but removing a comment solely because of its formal tone is not a standard practice. And thanks for the link to WP:PE JammerPro (talk) 23:12, 19 May 2025 (UTC)
- God save us from lawyers.--Bbb23 (talk) 23:40, 19 May 2025 (UTC)
- I didn't remove that section because of tone; I removed it because it was the kind of material that should be on the article talk page. Thank you for teaching me what one should and should not do on Wikipedia: I really had no idea. Drmies (talk) 00:00, 20 May 2025 (UTC)
- :::Well, of course Shakespeare's Jack Cade proposed a solution with Dick, his butcher buddy. Geoff | Who, me? 23:44, 19 May 2025 (UTC)
- ::::BTW, the whole quote is really warning if you want total chaos, kill all the lawyers. The famous quote comes from William Shakespeare's play Henry VI, Part 2, Act 4, Scene 2. The full passage is:
- ::::> Dick the Butcher: The first thing we do, let's kill all the lawyers.
- ::::This line is often misinterpreted as an attack on lawyers, but in context, it is spoken by a follower of Jack Cade, a rebel who seeks to overthrow the government. The statement actually highlights the importance of lawyers in maintaining order, as Cade and his men believe eliminating them would help their lawless uprising succeed.
- ::::If you're interested in reading more about the meaning behind this quote, you can check out . Let me know if you'd like more Shakespearean insights! JammerPro (talk) 23:56, 19 May 2025 (UTC)
- :::LOL... I could say the same thing about Wiki editors. Is that casual enough?
- :::FYI. The article is and will remain at: Talk:The Ink Spots - Wikipedia where it belongs. I just put it here temporarily to catch some attention since @Drmies responded.
- :::I would really appreciate help to set the record straight. I have a clear COI. I was the attorney for the Ink Spots (Nabbie iteration), produced records for the owners of the Trademark "Ink Spots" - The Hanover Group, Inc.,, and handled some of the cases re: unauthorized use. I want to preserve the record. Jim was a friend. There is little doubt in light of the Fuqua Aug. 4, 1955 suit in The Black Dispatch, that Watson never stopped billing himself and Nabbie as the Ink Spots. JammerPro (talk) 23:52, 19 May 2025 (UTC)
- :::**Thanks for TEACHING ME that this belongs on The Ink Spots talk page. 😂**
- :::Of course, I *already* knew that, but hey—attention is nice, right? Mission accomplished! I got you to notice, and now I’m hoping you’ll help me out.
- :::I'm not offended by *innocent* reference about lawyers possibly *vacationing permanently* off this planet. No offense taken—unless you’re secretly Shakespeare’s Dick the Butcher.
- :::Anyway, I’m reaching out to everyone involved in *The Ink Spots* article. I’m here to contribute (not to cause drama—well, *maybe* a little drama). Hope I didn’t step on any toes. Best wishes!
- :::---
- :::Let me know if you want me to tweak it further! 😄 JammerPro (talk) 00:35, 20 May 2025 (UTC)

AdieuSloth
I was looking at a discussions where it seems as if User:AdieuSloth had been involved, and then I see they were blocked and you had an edit summary of "Sockpuppet child". I know what a sockpuppet is obviously, but what is a "sockpuppet child"? Iljhgtn (talk) 21:47, 18 May 2025 (UTC)
- "Sock puppetry" is from the first block log entry; I added "child" after some dumb talk page post when I revoked TPA. Any LTA who refers to themselves in the first person is lacking in the growth department. Drmies (talk) 22:27, 18 May 2025 (UTC)
- He also added [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:AdieuSloth&diff=prev&oldid=1291057976 this] edit summary too. Editz2341231 (talk) 22:30, 18 May 2025 (UTC)
- Damn straight Editz2341231. I love it when new editors close discussions on ANI and teach admins a lesson--is that what you are here for? Drmies (talk) 22:32, 18 May 2025 (UTC)
- No. I'm just questioning your profanity on your edit summary. But I can see why you've used it. Editz2341231 (talk) 22:36, 18 May 2025 (UTC)
- Then there's not a real need to question it, right. Drmies (talk) 22:45, 18 May 2025 (UTC)
- {{Tpw}} to be fair to Drmies, that is probably a heck of a lot more polite than some would use for an LTA that has been causing havoc and a lot of work over about a 6 month period. I've lost count of the amount of accounts the LTA has created (at least 12?). It might be impolite but it is warranted for that tosspot. Knitsey (talk) 22:42, 18 May 2025 (UTC)
- You should see what I just took care of, {{U|Knitsey}}. Someone stayed up all night with sweaty palms waiting to reveal themselves and then wet their pants when they did. Hey please come to the park with me next time. I'll pack beers and a chair for you. Drmies (talk) 22:52, 18 May 2025 (UTC)
- It's never quite tye gotcha that they think it is.
- How am I supposed to stalk your talk page when you've changed it to desktop view? I CAN TAKE A HINT. Knitsey (talk) 23:02, 18 May 2025 (UTC)
- I did something? Dude do you know how old I am? I can't do things. Drmies (talk) 23:20, 18 May 2025 (UTC)
- Dude, do you know how old I am seems to be my go to phrase these days.
- Seems to be a lot of talk pages switching over to desktop only. I can post, that isn't a problem, but now I have to switch to desktop to see past messages. It's not a problem...unless you're a nosy mare like me. Knitsey (talk) 23:28, 18 May 2025 (UTC)
- Well that escalated quickly.. Sorry to have asked! Iljhgtn (talk) 01:44, 19 May 2025 (UTC)
- Ha, no problem. I bet you'd find worse, or weirder, if you go through my entire history. "Fuck off" is kind of rare but I save it for special occasions, and when I actually say it I usually mean it. Now this desktop thing, that goes right over my head. Knitsey, I'm going to use that phrase as my hook on Match.com, ok? Drmies (talk) 02:04, 19 May 2025 (UTC)
- I tried internet dating MANY moons ago and actually made a few friends. I touted myself as a 4ft, 70 year old with a penchant for gurning. It turns out guys and gals love a sense of humour more than any serious attempts to 'big oneself up'. Knitsey (talk) 15:35, 19 May 2025 (UTC)
- I keep getting messages saying that someone I chatted with has had their account blocked for abuse. Drmies (talk) 15:38, 19 May 2025 (UTC)
- I would imagine there are lots of scammers/phising accounts? Knitsey (talk) 15:46, 19 May 2025 (UTC)
- Yeah, I guess. The whole setup is weird in a couple of ways but the details are boring. I did meet a nice woman the other day, in real life, but unfortunately she was already married, and to a woman! Just my luck, haha. Drmies (talk) 19:25, 19 May 2025 (UTC)
- :I don't know what it's like recently, but that was why I quite liked it for a while. I didn't get any decent dates but I made some lovely friends lol. Knitsey (talk) 19:35, 19 May 2025 (UTC)

Articles for Creation backlog drive
Hello Drmies:
WikiProject Articles for creation is holding a month long Backlog Drive in June!
The goal of this drive is to reduce the backlog of unreviewed drafts to less than 1 month of outstanding reviews from the current 3+ months. Bonus points will be given for reviewing drafts that have been waiting more than 30 days. The drive is running from 1 June 2025 through 30 June 2025.
You may find :Category:AfC pending submissions by age or other categories and sorting helpful.
Barnstars will be given out as awards at the end of the drive.
There is a backlog of over {{Rounddown|{{formatnum:3,205|R}}|-2}} pages, so start reviewing drafts. We're looking forward to your help! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:25, 20 May 2025 (UTC)
- If you wish to opt-out of future mailings, please remove yourself from the mailing list or alternatively to opt-out of all massmessage mailings, you may add :Category:Wikipedians who opt out of message delivery to your user talk page.

Question About Off-Wiki Friendships with Sockpuppeteers
So I have had an intermittent email friendship going on with a certain vandal who frequently shouts you out since the end of their spring 2024 vandalism streak--actually on your suggestion since you had previously said it was disruptive for me to be chatting with them on-Wiki. I do not feel comfortable disclosing what we have talked about since I want to respect their privacy, all I will say is that our conversations are very much non-Wikipedia based. I have continued to be involved in the counter-vandalism effort against them since they reemerged despite having this off-wiki correspondence with them, should I recuse myself from further involvement in counter-vandalism against this specific user due to this friendship? --Thebirdlover (talk) 13:24, 30 May 2025 (UTC)
- That's up to you. It's not a big deal. Tell them to grow the fuck up and stop bothering people, that's a thing you can do. Drmies (talk) 14:26, 30 May 2025 (UTC)

Suprised it took this long (for an account to be created, since article is protected), they continue to name the tournament "Botola Pro" even though WP says it's Botola, and continue to add unsourced/irrelevant honours (i added source for one, removed the other altogether)...
Can't prove without a shadow of a doubt it is the same person, but the list of contributions focused almost exclusively in Moroccan football(ers), as did the IPs. You have been briefed, cheers! RevampedEditor (talk) 16:02, 2 June 2025 (UTC)
- My frustration (at this user not complying with guidelines) got the best of me and i removed an important honour (not "irrelevant" as i call it above!), subject was elected best goalkeeper of the season.
