G.-M. Cupertino

I wasn't sure if you were corralling Cupertino IPs and socks, but I saw where you tagged User:Religi%C3%A3o,_Pol%C3%ADtica_e_Futebol. I happen to notice an edit by Religião, Política e Futebol was reinstated by [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/185.92.96.24 IP185.92.96.24] on the Michael of Russia article.

I am nearly 100% sure [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Contributions&target=195.23.167.129 195.23.167.129] is also Cupertino logged out to edit. One of their tells is adding "wife" to articles, along with large amounts of irrelevant information to noble articles.[https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Phoebus_of_Lusignan&diff=prev&oldid=1281699497 185.92.96.24] --Kansas Bear 01:01, 22 March 2025 (UTC)

:Those two IPs were pretty obvious. I took a look at some of their more recent socks and found a couple of recent accounts too. Girth Summit (blether) 16:14, 22 March 2025 (UTC)

::You can add [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/88.214.180.88 IP88.214.180.88] to that list as well.--Kansas Bear 16:45, 6 April 2025 (UTC)

:::Probably, from the look of the articles they edited. Feel free to revert all those edits. There's probably no point blocking the IP, it hasn't edited for five days and I expect they will have moved on from it. Girth Summit (blether) 09:10, 7 April 2025 (UTC)

; Aims

After discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Yorkshire in April 2008.

Specific aims for the project are:-

  • To complete tagging and assessment of all Yorkshire related articles (See Assessment)
  • To recruit more active editors (See Member News)
  • To bring our top level article Yorkshire up to Featured article status
  • To bring all other top priority articles (currently 15 with 2 at FA) to at least Good article status
  • To set up a weekly or monthly selected article improvement drive
  • To produce a regular news letter for circulation to members

;Priority Articles

The top priority articles that have been identified to date are as follows -

The number has been kept deliberately low to give us a fighting chance of improving them to at least GA status, also so we can concentrate our efforts on these first.

Please nominate future articles for improvement at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Yorkshire.

; Please bear in mind...

File:Imbox style.pngThe project is subscribed to a [https://bambots.brucemyers.com/cwb/bycat/Yorkshire.html clean-up listing] which lists articles tagged with various clean-up tags that need attention. The listing is refreshed by a bot on a regular basis.

  • Monitoring is essential
Use the watchlist to keep an eye on changes to the project's articles so that vandalism and spamming can be removed as quickly as possible.
  • Moves
Please be careful when performing articles moves and ensure that you also move all the talk sub-pages and update any image fair use rational. Otherwise the archives, to-do lists, assessment comments and GA reviews get lost and the image may be deleted as it has an incorrect FUR. You will also have to check that the Commons link is set correctly.

;Thanks

  • A very big {{Thank you}} to all the editors who labour away quietly and help make this WikiProject what it is; no edit goes unnoticed.
  • To the football and rugby editors who have done sterling work in keeping abreast of the top clubs.
  • To all the WikiProject Yorkshire editors who have been busy on vandal patrol at watchlist.

Undelete?

Most important: Thank you for all that you do for the wikipedia community. This is no criticism of your work.

What did happen, though, is that a new page connected to the nonprofit I work for was deleted on Jan 29. Turns out the user who created the page (Aniflower) was sockpuppeting. Despite their actions on other pages, this was one with legitimate info about a public figure who meets the notability guidelines: he's had articles and books published, been interviewed on TV, and leads social work efforts with impact in multiple countries. Would it be possible to discuss un-deleting the page?

Here's the redlink: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Draft:Azam_Mansha&action=edit&redlink=1 Smarshall88 (talk) 01:30, 9 April 2025 (UTC)

:Hi - first of all, since you are asking about an article related to your employer, you will need to read WP:PAID and WP:COI, and make the necessary declarations. Once you've done that, you would be at liberty to write a new draft yourself, but you will need to go through the WP:AfC process because of your conflict with the subject. I would not be willing to undelete the work of Aniflower, who is a long-standing serial abuser of this platform. Girth Summit (blether) 12:36, 10 April 2025 (UTC)

Me too

FWIW, I was a teacher back in the day too Jimfbleak - talk to me? 19:23, 15 April 2025 (UTC)

:Nice - I didn't know that. What subject/age range? I qualified in general primary, and have spent most of my time teaching Year 6/P7 (11 years olds), but I've had a bit of a varied career, and have taught everything from 5-year-old splat-monsters to teenagers about to head off to uni. As I get older, for some reason I'm getting a lot more out of teaching the younger ones.

:A few years ago, I was teaching at an independent school, and at the end of term party I had a couple of drinks with the school marketing manager. She was moaning about how she had been prevented from publishing a (very promotional and inappropriate) draft about the school, and called all Wikipedia admins a bunch of busybodies. Then I told her I was one, and we had a chat about the rules here. I'm not sure she really got it, but at least she was able to put friendly face to one of the heartless anonymous admins who had been frustrating her. Now that I think about it, I think you might have been the person who deleted the draft... Girth Summit (blether) 19:35, 15 April 2025 (UTC)
