:*Hi Groinstrad. Well, I'd like to be able to tell you that you did something horribly, obviously wrong, but.... you didn't. You went out of your way to keep the tone neutral, you added several good sources, and for your efforts you had several people (including me) ask that your article be deleted. So here's the non-obvious advice that worked for me. Hang out at the Article for Deletion discussions. The academics are sorted into this category: Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Academics and educators. After you've watched a few dozen of those discussions develop, you've have a much better idea of how WP:ACADEMIC is actually interpreted (and trust me, I'm not an expert either). And hang out at WP:ANI, and WP:TEAHOUSE, and maybe WP:RSN too. And then start thinking about writing articles. You'd think with the acres of policies, essays and guidelines we could come up with something to give you to read that would avoid what happened to your article. Until we figure that out, join the conversation. And hang in there. Lesser Cartographies (talk) 03:41, 6 September 2014 (UTC)
