Let's talk

Hey Ian, I won't be available for many hours, but I'm noticing that there appears to be an escalating problem here and I suspect you are at risk of being blocked soon if you don't slow down and communicate with your fellow editors here to reach consensus on the changes you want. If you want, I can try to help you through all this by talking you through these issues and orienting you to this new environment, either here on your talk page or via email. It's up to you.

As I said, however, I won't be available for many hours, so you will need to stop and wait for my response if so. Fortunately, there is no rush here, so you don't need to panic or repeatedly restore your changes (that's called "edit warring" and is a swift path to enforced edit restrictions). We can work together, {{em|all of us}}, to improve the article on what I will assume in good faith to be the band you're in. Persisting along this path you seem to be going is probably going to result in you being forcibly excluded from the process, though, so it's in your interest to work with others here if you want to participate in shaping articles about you and your activities.

I am not an administrator, so I cannot enact any such restrictions. Given the messages you have received above, however, I suspect some are now monitoring the situation. Hopefully, you stop and start collaborating with the editors here. If not, then you may not be here for the right reasons, in which case I'm not sure anything I can say will help.

If you're interested in working through all this, then it may be worth your while to look over the following documentation while you wait:

I hope this will give you a better understanding of why editors are behaving the ways you have encountered. I look forward to whatever response you may have. If there is one, I will be sure to reply next time I'm available. By the way, welcome to Wikipedia! —Nøkkenbuer (talkcontribs) 13:33, 3 September 2018 (UTC); last edited at 13:49, 3 September 2018 (UTC)
