[[WP:GNG]] requirements for [[Shraddhanjali]]

Hi, you've recently moved Shraddhanjali to the mainspace but as of right now, the article doesn't demonstrate WP:Notability according to the WP:GNG. Would you care to improve the article so that it meets mainspace requirements? Take a look at what is generally required of movies at WP:NFILMS. Thanks, microbiologyMarcus [petri dish·growths] 13:37, 7 March 2024 (UTC)

Editing lead on [[Debashree Roy]] article

Hi Ikshya, Thanks for your contributions to Debashree Roy, unfortunately the revert you did not does not confirm with your comments. You have reverted an 18 line lead and left a 46 line lead which had two full paras of duplication. The second para is completely covered in career section with all her films and the awards are all covered in the table at the end. While the lead can briefly repeat a bit of info that is covered in the content sections, huge repeats are not to be in the Lead section and should be moved to the article's body. Please see MOS:Leadlength . Also you left peacock stuff like, "She has been cited as the reigning queen of Bengali commercial cinema (not a current comment) and removed important well cited info like "she trained in Odissi under Kelucharan Mahopatra and also deleted 9 refs. I left your revert in good faith so as not to start an edit war and hope you understand that the second para of the current lead should go to career section and the third para of the current lead, should be merged with awards table or should go to the end of the page. Please dont remove the tag until the mess in the lead is cleared. Writing in good faith, thanks and regards! Davidindia (talk) 08:38, 15 March 2025 (UTC)

:Dear Davidindia,

:Thanks for this discussion. I reverted your 18 lines edit because I felt that a lead of 18 lines was insufficient to describe the person. Debashree Roy is an eminent moviestar of West Bengal. So an introductory section of 18 lines may be a little derogatory to this person. I followed some pages of eminent Indian actresses and discovered that a lead section of 3 paragraphs is used in most of the pages. Refer to Katrina Kaif, Kareena Kapoor, Rani Mukherjee. Each of thse pages retains a lead section of 3 paragraphs with 50 or more than 50 lines. The person is not a bollywood star. But her reputation in West Bengal is equivalent to Madhuri Dixit's reputation all over india. The fact is that a regional moviestar does not get a wide media coverage which a Bollywood star gets. Thus a regional moviestar is not considered to be equivalent to a Bollywood star. If the same reflection is there on Wikipedia also, then it may be unfair. Moreover the person is also a critically acclaimed actress. The 2nd paragraph in the lead section describes her reputation as a moviestar of Bengali cinema and the 3rd paragraph describes her reputation as a critically acclaimed performer. I erroneously omitted the entire 4th paragraph which described her reputation as a dancer.

:With regards Ikshya (talk) 15:22, 15 March 2025 (UTC)

::Hi Ikshya, thanks for the explanation. Reputation and notability are completely different criteria. Also a queen in 90s, does not require a lead para intro as "reigning Queen". However, though I do NOT agree with you, since you appear to be well versed with Films and the industry, I will leave it here... But I feel the article, a merged article, still needs a thorough clean up. Happy editing! Davidindia (talk) 16:45, 15 March 2025 (UTC)

:::Hi Davidindia, thanks for identifying the peacock phrase "reigning queen". The phrase has been removed. Ikshya (talk) 19:25, 15 March 2025 (UTC)
