Wikipedia user pages are for editors who are active in working for the project to give a little information about themselves in connection with their work for the encyclopaedia; they are not places to post any other kind of material. I shall move your user page to Draft:Liming, since that is more appropriate for a draft article, which is what the page appears to be. JBW (talk) 17:25, 26 November 2024 (UTC)

Welcome!

Hello, Jameschurch001000, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate encyclopedic contributions, but some of your recent contributions, such as your edit to the page :Terren Peizer, seem to be advertising or for promotional purposes. Wikipedia does not allow advertising. For more information on this, please see:

If you still have questions, there is a new contributors' help page, or you can {{edit|Special:MyTalk|click here to ask a question on your talk page|section=new|preload=Help:Contents/helpmepreload|preloadtitle=Help me!}}. I hope you enjoy editing Wikipedia! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Feel free to write a note on the bottom of User talk:Tacyarg{{!}}my talk page if you want to get in touch with me. Again, welcome! Tacyarg (talk) 23:38, 31 January 2025 (UTC)

File:Information orange.svg Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to :Terren Peizer. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you.{{PAGENAME}} Tacyarg (talk) 17:32, 1 February 2025 (UTC)

File:Information.svg Hi Jameschurch001000! I noticed that you have reverted to restore your preferred version of :Terren Peizer several times. The impulse to undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure you're aware that the edit warring policy disallows repeated reversions even if they are justifiable.

All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages to try to reach consensus. If you are unable to agree at {{TALKPAGENAME:Terren Peizer}}, please use one of the dispute resolution options to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of reverting can help you avoid getting drawn into an edit war. Thank you. Tacyarg (talk) 21:53, 11 February 2025 (UTC)

Notice of Conflict of interest noticeboard discussion

Managing a conflict of interest

File:Information.svg Hello, Jameschurch001000. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page :Terren Peizer, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{tl|edit COI}} template), including links or details of reliable sources that support your suggestions;
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see {{Section link|Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI}});
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see {{Section link|Wikipedia:Spam#External link spamming}});
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicizing, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you.{{#ifexpr: ({{#time: U | now}} - 1739309906) < 13150000 | {{PAGENAME}} | }} Tacyarg (talk) 21:38, 11 February 2025 (UTC)

Minor means minor

See WP:MINOR fpr when your edits as minor. David notMD (talk) 03:43, 12 February 2025 (UTC)

Unexpected consequences

Asking questions at Teahouse can have the unexpected consequence of having several highly experienced editors who volunteer there to review everything the asking editor has been doing (sometimes even on other articles they have been editing). The advice you have been given - to seek consensus on the Talk page of the article in question - is the best path.

Even though you deny a COI, your one-topic editing has been brought up at Wikipedia:Conflict of interest/Noticeboard. If you persist in editing the article directly versus making a case at the Talk page, there is a potential for an Administrator to act to block your account. (I am not an Admin.)
