Are illegitimate children of monarchs actually royalty

I am wondering if illegitimate children of monarchs are actually royalty. I would think that royalty is limited to people fully recognized. So unless these people were given legitimate status after birth I would think they should be excluded from royalty categories.John Pack Lambert (talk) 18:04, 1 July 2025 (UTC)
