It doesn't need to. You can expand it beyond one line with citations to reliable sources that demonstrates its notability independent of eBay so that it meets WP:CORP, until then an unsourced one-liner that basically says it existed and was bought by eBay fails to meet WP's inclusion criteria, so a redirect is best.
