    Image:Information.svg Hello, I'm Aqurs1. I noticed that in [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?oldid=1268762363&diff=1268762551 this edit] to :Abdul Hamid Khan (general), you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Aqurs1 (talk) 12:02, 11 January 2025 (UTC)

    :Hello Aqurs1, thank you for your feedback regarding my edit. I appreciate your concern and the effort you put into reviewing the page. I would like to clarify that my intention in changing the infobox from "military person" to "officeholder" was based on Abdul Hamid Khan’s significant roles in public office during his tenure from 1969 to 1971

    :In particular, the "officeholder" infobox allows for a clearer presentation of his various administrative and political offices, which the "military person" infobox does not adequately accommodate. This change was made to enhance the structure and readability of the article, ensuring that readers get a comprehensive understanding of his responsibilities beyond the military sphere. I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

    {{Quote|1=High quality reliable sources (WP:RS) sources are required that specifically provide biographical information about the subject. Fleeting mentions in other publications or websites are not sufficient to establish notability.}}

    The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Kudpung}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

    :Hello, Kudpung,

    :Thank you for your feedback and help on this page. I have added a few more citations to improve the reliability and quality of the information on Javed Hassan's page. I believe these sources address the concerns raised regarding notability and biographical details. If you need further clarification or additional sources, please feel free to let me know. I must state that finding reliable sources for Javed Hassan proves to be a difficult task due to the unavailability of information of them online.

    :I look forward to your review, and I hope the page can now meet the required standards.

    :Thank you again for your assistance!

    Hello brother

    I had been recently read a book (Encyclopedia of Wars)

    and here is written that Pakistan suffered from 1,500 killed and 4,300 wounded meanwhile India suffered from 2,713 killed and 4,300 wounded.

    And in another book Warfare and Armed Conflict (A statistical Encyclopedia of Casualties and other figures) written the same thing that india suffered from 3,712 killed and 7,638 wounded+killed meanwhile Pakistan lost 1,500 killed and 5,800 wounded+killed.

    File:Information.svg Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that your recent edit to :1947 Gilgit rebellion did not have an edit summary. You can use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit, or to provide a description of what the edit changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances that your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits, an adequate summary may be quite brief.

    The edit summary field looks like this:

    {{Edit summary field/OOUI}}

    Please provide an edit summary for every edit you make. With a Wikipedia account, you can give yourself a reminder by setting {{myprefs|3|check={{int:tog-forceeditsummary}}}}, and then click the "{{int:saveprefs}}" button.

    "Supported by" in military conflict infoboxes

    A 2023 RfC concluded that "supported by" sections are generally inappropriate in military conflict infoboxes. The information is usually too nuanced for what is meant as a high level summary. Any exceptions require prior consensus. -- Worldbruce (talk) 01:17, 9 April 2025 (UTC)

    Research conduct and writing

    In the lead of William Harrison (brigadier) you make various statements about him: that he "played a pivotal role", was described as a "pawn in Niazi's doomed chess game", and "is also accused of war crimes". For these assertions you cite:

    • {{Cite book |last=Niazi |first=Lt. Gen. A.A.K. |title=The Betrayal of East Pakistan |publisher=Oxford University Press |year=1998}}
    • {{Cite book |last=Salik |first=Siddiq |url=https://books.google.co.uk/books/about/Witness_To_Surrender.html?id=2IO7xMd2T2cC&redir_esc=y |title=Witness To Surrender |date=1977 |publisher=Oxford University Press |isbn=978-81-7062-108-9 |language=en}}
    • {{Cite news|url=https://www.thedailystar.net/supplements/victory-day-special-2017/genocide-1505440|title=Genocide|date=2017-12-16|work=The Daily Star|language=en|access-date=2019-05-18}}

    Can you explain why none of these three sources contain the name Harrison?

    Later you cite:

    • Rashid, Haroon. "Military Strategies in the 1971 Conflict." Journal of South Asian History, vol. 23, no. 4, 2001, pp. 331–349.
    • {{Cite book |last=Feroz |first=Ahmad |title=The 1971 War: A Retrospective Analysis |publisher=Karachi: Defence Publications |year=2002 |no-tracking=yes}}
    • {{Cite book |last=Burki |first=S. Javed |title=Pakistan’s Military: Past, Present and Future |publisher=Oxford University Press |year=2004 |pages=195–199}}

    Can you explain why WorldCat has no record of such a journal or such books, why Google Scholar doesn't show anyone ever citing them, and why Oxford University Press has no record of ever publishing such a book by Burki? Can you supply an ISSN for the journal or ISBNs for the books? Did you consult these sources yourself, or did you see them cited elsewhere? --Worldbruce (talk) 15:51, 30 May 2025 (UTC)

    :Hi @LesIie, sorry to do this. Your actions have clearly been both disruptive and dishonest, but I do think they're consistent with "new editor, excited to contribute, panics and makes the worst possible choices at basically every turn". I expect you will want to get out of this block, and I can tell you that this will be a very hard block to escape from, so please take some advice, if that's what you want to do: first, don't make an unblock request for at least a month; you need to get out of panic mode, and you need to be able to demonstrate to an unblocks admin that you have some self-control. Second, don't use LLMs for anything to do with Wikipedia, at any stage in the process, ever again. Third, for the love of all that is good and holy, do not create any new sockpuppet accounts; that way leads to a community ban (WP:3X), which will take years to get out of, if you ever manage it. Good luck.

    :If you did all of this knowingly and not out of blind panic, my advice instead is: don't let the door hit you on your way out. -- asilvering (talk) 15:03, 2 June 2025 (UTC)

    ::Thanks for the advice, I think "new editor, excited to contribute, panics and makes the worst possible choices at basically every turn" is the right way to describe it, even though I, rather spectacularly, made an extremely high amount of bad moves. There is no need to be sorry because i clearly asked for it. I do plan to return in the future when I learn to fully abide by Wikipedias rules and standards. LesIie (talk) 15:30, 2 June 2025 (UTC)

    :::Cheers, and good luck. In the meantime you may be interested in contributing to a sister project like Commons. Be sure to read the licensing guidelines there carefully, since it looks like you've run into trouble there in this regard already (common newbie mistake). -- asilvering (talk) 20:24, 2 June 2025 (UTC)
