File permission problem with File:Charles Robert Moore - Texas Methodist minister.jpg

File:Copyright-problem.svg

Thanks for uploading :File:Charles Robert Moore - Texas Methodist minister.jpg, which you've attributed to {{NoOTRS60}}. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{tl|OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{tl|non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in [{{fullurl:Special:Log|type=upload&user=Mbcoats}} your upload log]. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ronhjones  (Talk) 22:52, 2 October 2014 (UTC)

Oct 8, 2014 Response

I have exchanged several emails with the various parties to resolve these concerns. The owner of the photo initially gave permission to me via email. I am trying to reach them now so they can provide the permission

directly.

Category:Wikipedians who have received a Teahouse invitation through AfC

:Hi @BuySomeApples,

:(I previously posted this on your talk page.) I have addressed your concerns regarding tone and inline citations. Also, I reviewed the WP:CRIME. Are you saying that since the subject has not been convicted a living biography is not appropriate? Perhaps this article would be better published as "Case of Marvin Guy", since it is the police action and subsequent judicial process that is the primary focus, not the person. If you agree, please reject this and I'll rewrite and submit as "Case of Marvin Guy".Mbcoats (talk) 18:55, 19 June 2023 (UTC)

Hello, Mbcoats. Thank you for your work on Marvin Guy. User:North8000, while examining this page as a part of our page curation process, had the following comments:

{{Bq|1=I did both AFC and NPP review. The article still has many prose/wording problems. I'm passing it because IMO it meets the standards for existence in mainspace (where it can be improved) despite having those issues. Happy editing!}}

To reply, leave a comment here and begin it with {{code|{{Re|North8000}}}}. Please remember to sign your reply with {{code|~~~~}}. (Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.)

:Hello {{Re|North8000}} Thanks for moving this out of draft. It'd been so long I'd nearly forgotten about it. Now that it is Alive! I'll try and improve. This one was tricky, because although the person may not sound notable, his case is, IMHO. At one point I considered a title of 'Case of Marvin Guy'. ~~~~ Mbcoats (talk) 02:01, 13 November 2023 (UTC)
