Levy & Erlich
Hi .. can you please add a cite to your addition to the effect that each "is known as a fan of the soccer team Maccabi Haifa? Thank you.--Epeefleche (talk) 20:32, 11 July 2009 (UTC)
- Got Erlich.--Mikej007 (talk) 23:52, 11 July 2009 (UTC)
- And Levy too and and fixed Andy Ram --Mikej007 (talk) 00:03, 12 July 2009 (UTC)
::Perfect! Thank you. I fixed the format a bit, and filled out the title of one. Question -- can you help me if I need help on the article of an Israeli singer, and there are 2 or 3 sources in Hebrew (yours is clearly better than mine)?--Epeefleche (talk) 00:24, 12 July 2009 (UTC)
:::No Problem!--Mikej007 (talk) 00:26, 12 July 2009 (UTC)
:::I need your help in fixing the format of Benjamin Netanyahu and Ehud Olmert, I added their favorite football clubs too--Mikej007 (talk) 00:28, 12 July 2009 (UTC)
Not a problem. Will take a look. Meanwhile, I'm referring to the 3 Hebrew sources at [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_D%27or#External_links]--maybe you can help determine if there is info there that is helpful to the article, and if so insert it? I can help clean up format if it comes to that. I think that article may be close to FA status.--Epeefleche (talk) 00:52, 12 July 2009 (UTC)
:Great Article! I added things in David_D'Or#Heritage_and_early_life and I think it needs editing.--Mikej007 (talk) 01:12, 12 July 2009 (UTC)
::Thanks ... I edited a bit, including tossing in the English translations of the two band names.--Epeefleche (talk) 03:58, 12 July 2009 (UTC)
File copyright problem with File:Maccabi Haifa B.C.Jpg

List of Lithuanian Places in other languages
On the Yiddish names, it's harder for me to find the spellings in Hebrew - I might just give you the names as I find them and ask you to do the edits.radek (talk) 23:46, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
::No problem. We should do the wiki links to it from the related articles.--Mikej007 (talk) 23:55, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
List of Poilish Places in other languages
Mike, Hi! I just took care of the Kroke article. Was hoping you could make sure that it's in order. Thanks. Dr. Dan (talk) 01:48, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
:Very Good :)--Mikej007 (talk) 01:52, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
::While we're at it, please help with the Łódź article. Seems there's no existent link anywhere to be found for the Yiddish name for this important and significantly Jewish city (over 50%?), in Poland, birthplace of dear Arthur Rubinstein (a favorite of mine). Can you find the time? Dr. Dan (talk) 02:19, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
:::Dan! This is fantastic! We can actually work together! Thank you.--Jacurek (talk) 02:50, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
::::Now that we have come to an agreement, please straighten out the Krakow situation. Either we place the material in the lead consistently or we place it down somewhere at the bottom of the article. And again, I need help with Łódź, can't find the Yiddish toponym in the names in other languages section. Dr. Dan (talk) 16:19, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
It seems Kroke and Lodzsh are now straightened out. I'm having difficulties with Radom though. With 39% of the pre-war population to consider, it needs its Yiddish toponym put into the lead. Can you help with this one? Dr. Dan (talk) 02:50, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
:Got it. I think my next project will be to add Yiddish names to all the Polish, Lithuanian, Latvian, Belarusian, Ukrainian and Russian places that had significant Jewish populations. I think it will be fair and according to the new consenzus.--Mikej007 (talk) 03:28, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
::Thanks, don't forget Plock. A very beautiful town (maybe I say this because I had a love interest from Plock in my youth, but it's actually quite beautiful). Do some research on it and you will be surprised. Especially the interbellum period. Dr. Dan (talk) 03:35, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
:::Got it. Fixed Kaunas, please check if it's according the consensus.--Mikej007 (talk) 03:44, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
Looks alright. What's up with Warsaw? Is "Варшава" going to upset the applecart? Russian names in Polish topics are just as relevant as Polish names in Lithuanian ones. And your work with Radom and Plock is appropriate. For the consensus to hold, I should think a two-way street, rather than a one-way street, should be implemented. Obviously Poles are very sensitive to this do to heavy earlier Russification (and other historical matters) as to how they view Russia. I think Prime minister Shamir analyzed this rather succinctly, but even Radeksz and Jacurek have stated that "feelings" along these lines are not valid arguments and unimportant. If you agree, please correct the Warsaw article so that the consensus can be built upon. You have a much more neutral track record and would add more validity to re-editing it than I would. I'm not interested in starting a new edit war, just to have a balanced and consistent approach to the policy. Thanks in advance. Dr. Dan (talk) 21:53, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
:It seems that this will remain a one way street. But at least you can begin to get a real feel for the "problem". Dr. Dan (talk) 18:08, 24 August 2009 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for File:Sammy ofer stadium.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to :File:Sammy ofer stadium.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. –Drilnoth (T • C • L) 01:46, 9 September 2009 (UTC)

Tempest in a Teapot?
Concerning Vilnius, "also known by several other names" is applicable to hundreds, if not more, of cities with articles on Wikipedia. Are we splitting hairs here, or this there some unique purpose to your edit? Thought I'd ask you on your talk page rather than simply reverting your edit back to mine. Thanks, Dr. Dan (talk) 02:44, 9 February 2010 (UTC)
: It is a fact that it is known by other names to English speakers. No need to change that.--Mikej007 (talk) 18:16, 9 February 2010 (UTC)
::How do you view the comparable entry at the Warsaw article in relation to the matter? Dr. Dan (talk) 02:05, 10 February 2010 (UTC)
:::I don't really care about it. Change ot and deal with the people that do care about it. The things aren't connected and I won't fall again to meaningless debates and questions. as for Vilnius, it is known by several other names to English readers.--Mikej007 (talk) 16:28, 11 February 2010 (UTC)

Image:Ambox warning yellow.svg
The article Names of Belarusian places in other languages has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
:Wikipedia is not a directory and not a dictionary. Those names should already be included in the articles or exist as redirects.

The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. De728631 (talk) 15:34, 27 May 2011 (UTC)

Hi Mike, thanks for your work. I notice you've [http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Hapoel_Tel_Aviv_F.C.&diff=483653827&oldid=483027286 linked a few months and years]. Please note that since July 2009, chronological items are not normally linked on the English Wikipedia (except in articles such as actual year articles). Ask me questions about this if you wish. WikiProject Poland Newsletter • January 2014 • Issue II
For our freedom and yours Welcome to the second issue of WikiProject Poland newsletter, the Monitor (named after the first Polish newspaper). Our Project has been operational since 1 June, 2005, and also serves as the Poland-related Wikipedia notice board. I highly recommend watchlisting the Wikipedia:WikiProject Poland page, so you can be aware of the ongoing discussions. We hope you will join us in them, if you haven't done so already! Unlike many other WikiProjects, we are quite active; we get close to a hundred discussion threads each year and we do a pretty good job at answering all issues raised. Last year we were featured in the Signpost, and our interviewer was amazed at our activity. In the end, however, even as active as we are, we are just a tiny group - you can easily become one of our core members! In addition to a lively encyclopedic, Poland-related, English-language discussion forum, we have numerous useful tools that can be of use to you - and that you could help us maintain and develop:
This is not all; on our page you can find a list of useful templates (including userboxes), awards and other tools! With all that said, how about you join our discussions at WT:POLAND? Surely, there must be something you could help others with, or perhaps you are in need of assistance yourself? It took me three years to finish this issue. Feel free to help out getting the next one before 2017 by being more active in WikiProject management :) You have received this newsletter because you are listed as a member at WikiProject Poland.
