Invitation to participate in research

Hello,

The Wikimedia Foundation is conducting a survey of a group of Wikipedians to better understand their experiences! We are also looking to interview some survey respondents in more detail, and you will be eligible to receive a thank-you gift for the completion of an interview. The outcomes of this research will shape future work designed to improve on-wiki experiences.

We have identified you as a good candidate for this research, and would greatly appreciate your participation in this survey, which shouldn’t take more than 2-3 minutes. You may view its privacy statement here. Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns. Kind regards, Sam Walton (talk) 16:35, 10 March 2025 (UTC)

Announcements (Events facilitated by others):

Tip of the month:

  • When creating biographies, don't forget to use Template:DEFAULTSORT.
Accessible from "Wiki markup" at the foot of the page being edited,
it allows categories to be listed under the subject's family name rather than their first or given name.

David John Porteous

Hi Oronsay What about the bareurls on ref 7 and ref 9-14. scope_creepTalk 08:59, 5 April 2025 (UTC)

:Apologies, @Scope creep. I had always thought of bare URLs as being http... and will be more careful in future. Thank you for pointing this out. Oronsay (talk) 18:11, 5 April 2025 (UTC)

::Morning Oronsay I never understond the bareurl policy standard. For me, bareurl are anthing that misses the publisher, authors, date and location. Its not the first time I've seen the tagged removed multiple times because folk have thought the url and website name were enough to satisify the policy. I also never understood why the policy was never updated to more modern standard. I guess we work we have. Thanks for doing that. That was nice of you. scope_creepTalk 06:55, 6 April 2025 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of :Nadia Bisiach

File:Ambox warning yellow.svg

The article :Nadia Bisiach has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Played a niche sport in the Olympics and did poorly, as such she doesn't satisfy NOLY.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the proposed deletion/dated notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing proposed deletion/dated will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. JayCubby 15:14, 7 April 2025 (UTC)
