Please stop using forebears.io as a source~or inserting information taken from that source (unless the consensus of the discussion changes). Please also don't make pages on names or surnames where only one enwiki article with that name exists (e.g. Trafeli). We normally don't have pages on names (unless they are for some reason truly notable), but may include some information on a name in a disambiguation page. However, that must be a misunderstanding, as you cannot possibly mean that. 3) A large number of short articles about national or state/province-level legislators seem to have only one source, which is typically the database of the relevant legislature, as in the original version of my article. This means that, while several sources would of course be a good thing, one reliable source (such as the database of a national parliament) is quite obviously considered to be enough to warrant the publication of an article, provided that the article's subject meets Wikipedia's notability criteria (as it does in this case, national legislators being notable by definition). I have, however, quoted two additional sources, one of which is the database of the University of Helsinki about the alumni of that university between 1853 and 1899. Please stop doing it, this is not how the names are written in Russian. In the Russian Wikipedia they indicate how the names are supposed to be pronounced (taken that Russian-speaking people know their alphabet), but all publications that mention the name of Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, for example, will write "Николай Андреевич Римский-Корсаков", not "Никола́й Андре́евич Ри́мский-Ко́рсаков". Adding stresses to the names is not a common practice in the English Wikipedia where the names are written as they are written, with a separate section for "pronunciation". Thank you. Hi, Pamrel. I see that you have created lots of biography articles. When doing so, please could you note the guidelines at Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style/Biography#Birth_date_and_place. "Birth and death places, if known, should be mentioned in the body of the article, and can appear in the lead if relevant to notability, but not in the opening brackets alongside the birth and death dates." As of today, I am noticing you are creating lots of new articles. This is good and all, but this might need more improvement.

May I add this bit, replacing the bit that comes in the tag to the end of the article (ignore categories). It converts the reference and adds a stub tag.

I notice you have been adding Category:Black Belt (U.S. region) to every county in Mississippi, but I'm not sure why. The Black Belt has no clear definition, and no exact boundaries. It's more of a concept than a place. Magnolia677 (talk) 19:52, 22 January 2020 (UTC)

:Actually, according to the article, it does have a clear definition: those counties in the U.S: South where the population is over 50% African American. Quote: " Prior to the large shift of the Second Great Migration from the 1940s to the 1960s, the sociologist Arthur Raper described the Black Belt of 1936 as some 200 plantation counties where blacks represented more than 50% of the population, lying "in a crescent from Virginia to Texas". The University of Alabama also classifies "roughly 200 counties" as comprising the Black Belt.

The US Census reported that in 2000, the United States had ninety-six counties with a black population percentage of more than 50%. :The Black Belt, along with Appalachia, the Gaeltacht, Mithila and numerous others, is a cultural region, not an administrative division. GeoNames only deals with administrative divisions, not with cultural regions. If we were to use inclusion in GeoNames as a criterion, no categories about cultural regions, such as :Category:Appalachia or :Category:Mithila would exist. The fact that such categories do exist proves that we cannot use that criterion. As for WP:GEOLAND, it deals with those criteria which a geographic region, area or place must meet in order to merit a Wikipedia article of its own. If your assumption about Black Belt (U.S. region) were correct, that article would have been deleted a long time ago. As far as I know, no one has ever even tried to delete that article. Most obviously, it does fit the criteria of WP:GEOLAND. As for the Black Belt definition, it's actually quite established. The article includes a quote from Booker T. Washington's autobiography, published in 1901 (Up from Slavery): "The term was first used to designate a part of the country which was distinguished by the color of the soil. The part of the country possessing this thick, dark, and naturally rich soil was, of course, the part of the South where the slaves were most profitable, and consequently they were taken there in the largest numbers. Later and especially since the war, the term seems to be used wholly in a political sense—that is, to designate the counties where the black people outnumber the white." The definition given by Booker T. Washington is, of course, the same that has since then been used in sociological studies about that part of the American South where African Americans constitute the majority population (and not just a sizeable minority). When you create a page with a disambiguated title like this, you should make sure the reader can find it by making a redirect (or a disambiguation page entry, or a hatnote) from the basic title, here Kuznetsky Uyezd.
