If the file's copyright status cannot be verified, it may be deleted. You may find more information on the file description page. File source problem with File:John hanlon.jpg

    File:Copyright-problem.svg

Thank you for uploading :File:John hanlon.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a [{{fullurl:Special:Log|type=upload&user=Pcaabplroa}} list of your uploads]. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Hello again,

To improve the article's layout, I'd suggest breaking it down into sections. Since the article is a biography, a 'Biography' section isn't necessary. There are some good guidelines in the "Welcome" template (at the top of this talk page), but it might be easier to find an article for somebody with a similar career to use as an example. Perhaps include sub-sections for things like 'Writing' / 'Publishing', etc. (?). ~Anyway, just a suggestion, ~Eric F 74.60.29.141 (talk) 19:37, 7 January 2013 (UTC)

    Sorry it was rejected

Hey, You probably saw the messages on my Talk page or I may have told you this already, sorry if I'm repeating myself but last week I had major surgery on my spinal column. When the surgeon first described to me what they wanted to do my take away was "well we chop your head off and then reconnect it correctly". It wasn't QUITE that bad of course but almost. They opened up my throat from the front and then did all kinds of mucking around with the bones in my spinal column. The bones were pinching on the nerves which was causing all kinds of problems. I always think of computer analogies, the spinal column is kind of like the network bus card in your computer it takes input and sends output to just about everything. I was losing my ability to walk and other things that are even more important like, well lets just say like what I'm sure got done a lot at the colony ;-) Anyway, back to Wikipedia, just keep in mind I'm on massive pain killers still so I may forget things you've said before or may not reply as quickly as I used to. I saw the rejection, I think you can still make it if you aren't disgusted yet. The last one was filled with stuff like "not notable", etc. This one just said that it wasn't clear what the article was about. In fact I feel bad I didn't catch it before hand but I think that shows why its important to have different eyes look at the same page, I was getting so used to the idea that it didn't jump out at me but he is correct we have a poor lead section. It should start off very clearly saying something like "The property was the name for an artist colony located at X and lasting from A to B. It was home as well as a stopping point for many famous artists and actors of the 70's including..." If I was feeling better this morning I would take a shot at rewriting the lead but I'm just not up for it. I suggest you review this article: Lead_paragraph and then ask me any questions. Then try the rewrite yourself and I'll take a look. It wouldn't hurt to reach out to the reviewer either. I still want to help just understand I'm still not at full strength yet. --MadScientistX11 (talk) 14:23, 11 February 2015 (UTC)

:Hi {{U|MadScientistX11}}, I had no idea about your surgery. Sorry you had to go through this! I'm amazed that you're kind enough to continue helping me. I totally understand if it becomes too much, and I will try to do all the work myself. I took your advice and wrote a new lead paragraph, User:Pcaabplroa/sandbox. Then I added my new reference to the end of the article with an inline citation. Finally, I wrote to the reviewer who rejected my article, informing him of the changes I made, and asking him if he thought my article would be accepted if I resubmitted it now. --Pcaabplroa (talk) 08:53, 14 February 2015 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on :My Back Pages: Reviews and Essays requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://zerogrampress.com/2016/11/02/my-back-pages. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 18:12, 11 January 2018 (UTC)

:Thank you, Diannaa. I've rewritten the page so it's not so similar to the website. The website and image do belong to me, and I will follow up with your link on Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials to learn how to add the book cover that I designed there.
