Hi Certes. Thank you for your helpful advice. Pedalcat (talk) 17:32, 12 September 2020 (UTC)

Era

As explained in MOS:ERA, please do not change existing text between BC/BCE or AD/CE. Either is acceptable, and we should not normally alter the previous editor's preference. Thanks, Certes (talk) 21:19, 10 September 2020 (UTC)

Thank you Certes, I had not seen that.

I do think, though, that in an encyclopaedia which is read by people of many cultures and religions, it is inappropriate to use AD and BC as they imply that the reader is a Christian and non-Christians are to be ignored. We should be doing our best to be inclusive. My impression from extensive reading of Wikipedia is that BCE/CE is becoming the norm. Pedalcat (talk) 17:10, 12 September 2020 (UTC)
