    Learning to make vectors

Hello! As you might or might not know I have made a few vectors; but I feel that they could be better. I was wondering what software, and procedures that you use to create vectors. Because I feel I am not efficient on them.

With Regards! Netjerudua (talk) 03:52, 20 December 2024 (UTC)

:Hello Netjerudua, I know that many users that make vector images use a piece of software called Inkscape however I can not use it for reasons I do not want to go in to here so instead I use a website called Photopea but the most impotent thing is that when you download and upload images you do it in a format called SVG because it is more high quality and it saves layers so it is easier to work with. other website I have used in the past include; Pixlr (before it became all AI) but it does not allow you to upload SVG's (I believe they have there own format that works similor but is not accepted on most websites including Wikipedia), And the Scratch image editor which works surprisingly well and is easy to learn but does lack in feature and can only handle small files.

:another thing to note is that there are 2 main styles of egyptian god vector on wikipedia: 1 made by Eternal Space, and one made by Jeff Dahl, the Jeff Dahl style is often uploaded in SVG's but you have also uploaded some images particularly recently in the Eternal Space style and all of those are PNG's. PharaohCrab (talk) 12:53, 20 December 2024 (UTC)

::Great! Thank you very much! Netjerudua (talk) 16:38, 20 December 2024 (UTC)

    Sandwiching text between images

Hi, I'm Skye. With regard to your edit to Baphomet, please see WP:SANDWICH. Images should not sandwich text between them. The link provides suggestions for how to include an image without creating sandwiched text. Skyerise (talk) 15:30, 4 January 2025 (UTC)

:I have added them back not sandwiched PharaohCrab (talk) 17:18, 4 January 2025 (UTC)

Hello my friend. I've tried to fix your citation 2, but the link doesn't seem to be working. I therefore can't add the title. Perhaps you could correct the URL. Thanks so much. Keep up the good work! Best regards, BoyTheKingCanDance (talk) 09:01, 22 January 2025 (UTC)

    [[Ibi (Nomarch)]]

Many thanks for the changes in the article above. However, i am not very happy with them, indeed I avoided the word normarch for some reason. It is a Greek word and it is not so useful to describe a governor of the Old Kingdom, so the word governor was used on purpose with just a link to normarch (see here Jessica Tomkins, The Misnomer of Nomarchs ZÄS 2018; 145(1): 95–104 ([https://www.academia.edu/35422636/The_Misnomer_of_Nomarchs_%CE%9F%E1%BC%B1_%CE%BD%CE%BF%CE%BC%CE%AC%CF%81%CF%87%CE%B1%CE%B9_and_Provincial_Administrators_of_the_Old_Middle_Kingdoms]) best wishes Udimu (talk) 05:42, 30 January 2025 (UTC)

:If you would like to change it back, I will not stop you. however I would prefer nomarch because it is most often used, it may be a later invention never used in old kingdom Egypt, but so are a lot of words used when ancient Egypt is discussed for example; the word pharaoh was never used to describe the king until Thutmose III at the earliest, but we have no problem calling earlier kings pharaohs. even calling it Egypt is inaccurate because the native name transliterates to Kemet. PharaohCrab (talk) 13:25, 30 January 2025 (UTC)

::the original text had a link and mentioned nomarch, but the title is Greek, a proper translation of the Egyptian title would be overlord of province XX. I will think about it, but i am not comfortable with slightly outdated research, if there is newer research out. Udimu (talk) 15:05, 30 January 2025 (UTC)

    Fake image

Hello. Please refrain from adding this fake image into the Kek (mythology) article. On 17 November 2024 you changed the existing image with a fake image without giving any explanation for doing that. Please do nont re-add this fake image. Thank you. 77.7.208.201 (talk) 18:10, 5 February 2025 (UTC)

:this images is not "fake", it is based on greco-Roman period depictions of the Ogdoad, where all 4 male member have frog heads, while the other male members also have other depictions, Kek does not and thus were using the frog head PharaohCrab (talk) 18:23, 5 February 2025 (UTC)

::Pepe the frog, which is an image that has been politicised in the past couple of years, and which has been rather amateurishly photoshoped into the image which you added, has nothing to do with Egyptian mythology. WP:BURDEN stipulates that "All content must be verifiable. The burden to demonstrate verifiability lies with the editor who adds or restores material, and it is satisfied by providing an inline citation to a reliable source that directly supports the contribution." The addition of the image containing Pepe the frog into the Kek (mythology) article which you made on 17 November 2024 did not have any verifiable reliable source. Please adhere to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Thank you. 77.7.208.201 (talk) 18:50, 5 February 2025 (UTC)

:::I do have a source in the form of this image of the Ogdoad, Kek and Kauket (along with the other members) are clearly shown with frog and serpent head. also, I am not by any definition vandalizing, as you claim, this is at worst, an edit war. PharaohCrab (talk) 19:05, 5 February 2025 (UTC)

::::By Wikipedia's definition, "vandalism has a very specific meaning: editing (or other behavior) deliberately intended to obstruct or defeat the project's purpose, which is to create a free encyclopedia, in a variety of languages, presenting the sum of all human knowledge." The new image which you now provided, has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with the fake image that has pepe-the-frog as the head. Please do not re-add this fake image back into the article again. Thank you. 77.7.208.201 (talk) 19:13, 5 February 2025 (UTC)

:::::If you want to add the new image please feel free to do so. But please do not think that people will not notice pepe-the-frog in that other fake image. Thank you. 77.7.208.201 (talk) 19:15, 5 February 2025 (UTC)

::::::It's just a frog, based on ancient depictions of frog headed deities like Heqet, it is not Pepe's head that would look more like this [https://%3A%2F%2Fwww.pinterest.com%2Fpin%2Fpinterest--581175526930254967%2F&psig=AOvVaw39JRt0zN7PXyrkgMNg4-sB&ust=1738869409720000&source=images&cd=vfe&opi=89978449&ved=0CBgQ3YkBahcKEwjQop69n62LAxUAAAAAHQAAAAAQBA] image I found on pinterest PharaohCrab (talk) 19:26, 5 February 2025 (UTC)

:::::::Pinterest is not a reliable source, according to Wikipedia's definition of reliable sources (see WP:SPS, WP:RS/SPS, WP:V). I have no more time to deal with this issue. If the fake image is re-added, there will be no 4th warning template given. The issue will then be brought directly to the admin's attention at the appropriate administrator board. Previous account

If you started this account after abandoning {{user|User24202}}, you need to declare it. I don't see any overlap between the edits, so I am not concerned about sockpuppetry, but we've seen these images and this conduct before. And you're still not {{user|Jeff Dahl}}. :I did not. we are two diferente people. I can see why you would think that though. PharaohCrab (talk) 14:30, 6 February 2025 (UTC)

:::Can I have permission to remove the warning templates accusing me of vandalism please? I hope its clear I mean no harm. PharaohCrab (talk) 15:32, 6 February 2025 (UTC)

::::Anybody can remove warning templates (apart from declined block reviews) from their own userpage, since it is considered an acknowledgement that they've been read. That said, you were edit-warring to insert a plainly inappropriate image, so any more and you will be courting a block. Acroterion (talk) 16:23, 6 February 2025 (UTC)

    Minor edits

Just a reminder that minor edits are a specific type of edit. They are for things that aren't disputed like correcting spelling mistakes or error messages, wikilinks, etc. Adding anything to pages outside of this such as content, images, or info boxes, are not minor edits and shouldn't be marked as such. Merytat3n (talk) 02:40, 9 February 2025 (UTC)

:yeah I know I sometimes mark major edits as minor. its because I do or at least did a lot of actually minor edits so it's become a bit of a habit, I try not to but I sometimes do, due to my muscle memory PharaohCrab (talk) 02:56, 9 February 2025 (UTC)

File:Information.svg Hello, I'm Lone-078. I noticed that you recently removed content from :Wadj-wer without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page.
