Caillebotte
There's four paintings by Caillebotte with their own articles, :Category:Paintings_by_Gustave_Caillebotte.
All four of them have a high-resolution copy of the image. Do you think it'd be worth withdrawing my current nomination, and instead doing them as a set of four, or is that likely to just reduce the number of times he appears on the main page pointlessly? Adam Cuerden (talk) 20:58, 28 December 2012 (UTC)
:Hmm... I think we dont have enough famous artists represented in the queue already so it would be better if they appear individually on the page for that reason alone.. They can be nominated as a set, but with the specific terms put into it that if passed they should appear on the front page individually, just spaced out so not sequentially.. that might be better. :P — raekyt 21:41, 28 December 2012 (UTC)
::True. By the way, what do you think of this Repin? :File:Ilya_Repin_-_Barge_Haulers_on_the_Volga_-_Google_Art_Project.jpg Adam Cuerden (talk) 12:41, 29 December 2012 (UTC)
:::For about 518dpi reproduction, I think it's amazing. People MAY want a slight crop though to get rid of the slight border around the painting. — raekyt 18:34, 29 December 2012 (UTC)
::::It's also going to need elevated out of the gallery on Ilya Repin which is already flooded with pictures from him, or justification made for it's own page which would need written. Which I think may be the big holdup in doing TONS of new art nominations.. creation of new pages or finding enough EV for them in already massively over-illustrated articles already. — raekyt 18:37, 29 December 2012 (UTC)
::Also, ever notice that FP goes in cycles? There haven't been paintings in ages, now, suddenly! Lots! Adam Cuerden (talk) 12:53, 29 December 2012 (UTC)
:::Ya... people have shifting interests, it's usually the same group of people nominating/participating in FPC over time, but they change their focuses fairly often. Or you get people jumping in every so often nominating large groups of things that are similar, like mushrooms, or JJ may go on a photo trip and do a push of birds, or whatever... I think with like 20,000 or more potential FP's in art being uploaded a month or so ago, there's a STRONG case for a MASSIVE flood of art... ;-) — raekyt 18:34, 29 December 2012 (UTC)
::::Outside of one that I think esoteric enough that I'm waiting until after the holidays - :File:Joseph_Ferdinand_Keppler_-_The_Pirate_Publisher_-_Puck_Magazine_-_Restoration_by_Adam_Cuerden.jpg if you're interested - I'm probably going to take a little break from nominations of my stuff... so I can create another Featured picture set >=) Adam Cuerden (talk) 13:20, 30 December 2012 (UTC)
:::::Hmm. Unless I grab some more from my deviantArt account. There's a rather good Suffragette March programme in there that I don't think got to Wikipedia yet. Adam Cuerden (talk) 13:24, 30 December 2012 (UTC)
::::::Or I could just stumble onto something and do a quick restoration. Adam Cuerden (talk) 17:35, 30 December 2012 (UTC)
{{od}} Lol, you do a lot... I haven't nominated anything in a while. If I do I'd probably wade through the Google Art uploads and find something that doesn't need restored to nominate. :P — raekyt 01:20, 31 December 2012 (UTC)
