Sloane, Arthur A. (1991). Hoffa

I have the book in front of me on as I read and edit. It is actually page 14. I am adding frank kierdorf, because it seems he was the inspiration for the fictional character of Billy Flynn in the Nicholson film. https://archive.org/details/hoffa00sloa (book can be read here) 78.150.126.123 (talk) 15:38, 7 May 2025 (UTC)

:No worries. Though it sounds like Hoffa, it should be sourced. RegentsPark (comment) 15:53, 7 May 2025 (UTC)

May 2025

Hi there! I have seen that you have reverted my edits on Sam Manekshaw twice. When you reverted my first edit, you stated that there is no definitive flag of British Raj which indeed is actually correct so, after realising my mistake, I edited the page again. This time I changed the code so that it will display the British Indian flag with the text "British India" nearby. But, you also reverted this edit of mine saying that the flag is unreliable but actually the pages, K. M. Cariappa and Sir Edward Quinan also use the same flags with the same names being displayed adjacent to them. So, I request you to not revert my edit on Sam Manekshaw this time because I am adding flags which are correct and not doing any vandal's work.

Would also like to hear from you as to why you removed it and what could be done next. Have a nice day!

:{{ping|Amogh Tripathi}}. There are a couple of reasons why you should not place these flags. First, per WP:INFOBOXFLAG, flag icons are discouraged in infoboxes. Second, if a flag must be used then it is incumbent on us to ensure that it is accurate. Unfortunately, there is no definitive flag that represents British India (this has been much discussed) since many different flags were used and there are no sources that definitely state that a particular flag was official. We should, therefore, not use any flag. Reliable sourcing is a policy on Wikipedia so it is better to not include information that cannot be reliably sourced than to add information of uncertain reliability. If other pages include these flags, then I suggest you remove them. RegentsPark (comment) 05:10, 24 May 2025 (UTC)

::You are right but, actually this is the most used flag on Wikipedia besides the template generates this flag whenever it is typed {{flag|British India}}. Anyways, I will not add the flag on the page of Sam Manekshaw. And I think on the other pages, the flags should remain as they were before untouched because the lack of flags makes the infobox less attractive. Thanks for taking yoyr time to read and reply. Have a nice day!Amogh Tripathi (talk) 07:26, 24 May 2025 (UTC)

Hathwa Raj

Hi, you may want to look into the Hathwa Raj article. An editor you previously partially blocked, @RyanRai11, seems to be working in tandem with an IP to add mass swathes of unsourced content and claims to the article similar to what they were doing on the Benares State article. Ixudi (talk) 13:20, 27 May 2025 (UTC)

:Seems to be using abusive language on this diff: [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Benares_State&diff=prev&oldid=1292515177] Ixudi (talk) 14:16, 27 May 2025 (UTC)

  • Has that editor not been banned from Benares State? His user talk page seems to suggest he has. (See [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Benares_State&diff=prev&oldid=1292516731 this diff]) Fowler&fowler«Talk» 16:44, 27 May 2025 (UTC)

::{{ping|Fowler&fowler}} I had misspelled Benares (as Benaras, which is a redirect page) . Have blocked them now. RegentsPark (comment) 17:32, 27 May 2025 (UTC)

:::Thank you, RP. Fowler&fowler«Talk» 19:13, 27 May 2025 (UTC)

:{{ping|Ixudi}} I've extended protected the article and will explicitly warn the editor. RegentsPark (comment) 17:44, 27 May 2025 (UTC)
