I am an artist who works in acrylic on canvas. My subjects are often animals in somewhat surreal settings. While researching a bird of prey called a Lammergeier, I found your photo on this site - http://beautyofbirds.com/lammergeiers.html. I'm specifically referring to the first photo at the top of the page. It's beautiful work, just striking. I was wondering if I could get your permission to base a painting on this photo - it wouldn't look exactly like it, but I would reference the pose and likely the shape and layout of the bird's features and feathers.

I paint purely as a hobby and have never sold a piece. This would most likely only ever be displayed in my own home. However, I do not want to use another artist's work for reference without getting their permission, because that is how I would like to be treated as well. I do have photos of some of my previous artwork to show you if you like.

Please let me know. And do not hesitate to tell me if you are not comfortable allowing me to use your work for reference! I won't be offended.
