How do you contribute using the command line?

I see that you have a userbox which states you contribute using the CLI. In what way do you interface with Wikipedia using the command line? ― Levi_OPTalk 01:16, 12 February 2025 (UTC)

:@Levi. I have used lynx in the distant past, but more recently I used vi from my Linux CLI to do mass edits of tables and other structured data for chemistry articles. The lack of regular expression search-and-replace in the cool new html-WYSIWYG editors makes certain kinds of edits difficult.

::Makes sense. Do you just copy-paste the page source into vi? Or is there some more bespoke solution for editing wikipedia pages in vi ― Levi_OPTalk 21:32, 12 February 2025 (UTC)

:::Copy/paste forward and back. I do the markup manually anyway, so it doesn't cost me much. Riventree (talk) 21:41, 12 February 2025 (UTC)
