We are writing an encyclopedia

Please note that we are writing an encyclopedia and so content must be presented in an appropriate tone from a neutral point of view and not a personal commentary essay . Please see WP:NPOV / WP:PEACOCK /WP:OR and WP:COPYRIGHT. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 16:20, 1 January 2015 (UTC)

Change in personal statement

Many thanks for your suggestion. I edited in some places where personal commentary is available. I just want to inform you that I am giving this information from a published work of a scholar who is expert in the author's (Nawab Faizunnesa) works. Please guide me if there is any change necessary.

Here is the link where from you can the reference I used: http://irep.iium.edu.my/30644/3/N._Faizunnesa.pdf

Deleted in many places

Please check the latest update on the page and let me know if there is anything wrong.

Copyright violations

Image:Ambox warning blue.svg Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions to the :Shelina Zahra Janmohamed article, but for legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text—which means allowing other people to modify it—then you must include on the external site the statement: "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the [https://www.gnu.org/copyleft/fdl.html GNU Free Documentation License], Version 1.2 and later, and under the terms of [https://creativecommons.org/about/licenses/ the Creative Commons Attribute Share-Alike]".

You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question at the Help Desk. You can also leave a message on my talk page. Skyerise (talk) 17:48, 4 April 2015 (UTC)

=regarding copyright violation=

Sir, my contribution in Shelina Zahra Janmohamed is not copyright violation, I think. I have acknowledge all 4 sources that I retrieved the information from. I need to inform you that Shelina Zahra Janmohamed's most popular work is Love in a Headscarf. Without a brief description of her work, the entry at Wikipedia is very poor. Many students everyday browse for Shelina Zahra Janmohamed and her work Love in a Headscarf. I just want to help those students. They can easily use the references I provided for their further study. As I acknowledges all the sources, I think it does not violate, copyright law. Moreover, all the information I added are found a=online for free. I did not cite from an article which someone needs to buy. I hope you have understood.

Any suggestion from you will be highly appreciated.

:Yes, it is a copyright violation. You are directly copying a source from academia.edu. It may be available for free, but it is not in the public domain. You cannot keep putting it back or you will be blocked from editing. I will be reporting it this time. Skyerise (talk) 15:40, 2 May 2015 (UTC)

::Scholaro081504, first I will begin with your comment "Many students everyday browse for Shelina Zahra Janmohamed and her work Love in a Headscarf." This is your opinion. I know nothing about this author and her work. I am a student. So no, your comment was false. Not many students researches about her. Secondly, yes, {{ping|Skyerise}} is correct. The content is copyright, please view WP:COPYVIO. You are copying content from a website then pasting it into a Wikipedia article. This a big no-no in Wikipedia. The content comes from more than one website. It may be viewed internationally, but it isn't public domain nor is it from your belongings. It is violating copyright laws. If you continue with this editing, you will be blocked. Callmemirela (Go Habs Go!) 18:18, 2 May 2015 (UTC)

=Response to your concern=

Sir, I respect the copyright law and regulations that wikipedia has. I tried to edit the contribution to Shelina Zahra Janmohamed for several times, to make it suitable for wikipedia. You may check the editing history. You are talking as if I am adding info to a fake person or fake information. I have not provided a single word of info that is wrong. I gave reference to every single sentence I added. I thought this is the authentic way to contribute at wikipedia. I have seen in many other places at wikioedia, where people added info from an website/article/newspaper and acknowledge the source. If it is wrong, what is the correct way? Should I simply write/rephrase info as I want without citing the source. That would a much more easy job. If I provided any wrong info, you could take legal action against me. I am just lost. I don't know how to respond to you. To contribute to wikipedia, I had to go through many materials. Now I realize that it is wrong to cite the source. Okay. Thanks...

:I think you are seriously misunderstanding how to contribute here. Prose you find online is almost always copyright, and cannot be copied here; it's against the law to do so. All prose must be written in your own words, and the sources from which you derived the material must be cited as sources, using the methods outlined at Wikipedia:Citing sources. There's more information about copyrights and how it applies to Wikipedia at Wikipedia:FAQ/Copyright. Copyright law and its application are complex matters, and you should not edit any more until you have taken the time to read and understand our copyright policies and how to properly cite your sources. Further copyright violations will result in you being blocked from editing. -- Diannaa (talk) 20:07, 2 May 2015 (UTC)

Okay, I will learn more about how to contribute at Wikipedia and then contribute. Thanks for your comment. by Scholar081504
