- Post all new sections under a new header at the bottom of this page, not at random. If you make it clear you ignored these instructions by placing it elsewhere, I am likely to ignore your request in turn.
- If you leave me a message here, I will respond to it here, as fragmented discussions are confusing. I may or may not leave you a notice that I've responded on your talk page. If you specifically request that I do (or do not) give you such a notice when I respond, I'll honor that request. If I contact you on your talk page, I will watchlist it so that I can respond there. If you'd like to leave me a notice when you respond (a ping will also suffice), it would be appreciated, and you'll probably receive a faster followup.
- No lulztxtspk or emojis on my talk page, please. "You" is spelled "you", "though" is spelled "though", "because" is spelled "because", "people" is spelled "people", and so on. There is no character limit on Wikipedia comments, so there is no need whatsoever for ad-hoc abbreviating. If you don't even take yourself seriously, don't expect me to take you seriously either.
- If you are an admin here to ask me about someone I blocked for vandalism or spamming/advertising, they've agreed to stop it, and you believe they intend to edit productively, go ahead and unblock them. If you still want my opinion please feel free to ask, but there's no obligation. For more complex cases I would appreciate a heads-up, but please go ahead with your best judgment if I don't seem to be online. I would appreciate it if you'd let me know after you do.
- If you are here to discuss edits made to an article, please use the article talk page, not this talk page, to discuss them. If I made the edit and the question is specifically directed at me, you are welcome to ping me.
- If you email me a question or request, and do not indicate why the matter is sensitive and must be handled privately (and such is not immediately obvious), I may ignore it or respond on your talk page rather than by return email. Talk pages are open to other editors to read, and so are the preferred method of communication for matters involving Wikipedia. If the matter you are speaking to me about is Wikipedia-related and would not violate anyone's privacy by being posted publicly, please use my talk page instead of email. This does not, of course, apply to editors who are blocked from editing, though I still may respond on your talk page rather than by return email.
Please Review!
Dear @Seraphimblade,
The Akash Singh Rajput page seems notable, and the votes were in favor of keeping it, yet you still deleted the page. Thatโs not fair there are many articles on Wikipedia with a lack of references that remain available. The article should be restored, and the discussion time should be extended. ๐ฎ-๐๐๐๐ถ 02:48, 11 May 2025 (UTC)
:{{u|S-Aura}}, AfD discussions are not a vote, and I stated why I did not go by simple "head count" in the closing statement. Having had another look at the discussion, I would stand by it and decline to alter the close or reopen the discussion. Seraphimblade Talk to me 04:22, 11 May 2025 (UTC)
::Sir, could you please reopen or extend the discussion period as per my request ? I strongly believe this article meets notability criteria under multiple factors. ๐ฎ-๐๐๐๐ถ 04:26, 11 May 2025 (UTC)
:::I already answered that. Seraphimblade Talk to me 04:37, 11 May 2025 (UTC)
::::Sir, Could you please explain why I'm not being allowed some time to prove my article correct? Which Wikipedia policy is preventing me to doing this? Multiple reliable sources are available on Google that could be included, and if given time, other contributors would also have the opportunity to share their feedback. ๐ฎ-๐๐๐๐ถ 05:10, 11 May 2025 (UTC)
- {{tpw}}, {{ping|S-Aura}}, the consensus goes to delete because every single source you have provided shows no significant coverage from any reliable source, that is verified independently. I urge you to please read the links I just provided. Bludgeoning the discussions won't do any good. Biographies of living persons are taken seriously and the subject just do not meet the notability guidelines. More time and more discussions won't bring up new sources out of the blue. You can secure more sources that meet those guidelines and start a draft at Articles for creation. Then it shall be reviewed and accepted. You already have quite a big number of AfD notices in your talk page. So take a breather and double check the sources and the articles you are making. Ping me or any other editors for assistance. Thanks and happy editing. — Benison (Beni ยท talk) 05:18, 11 May 2025 (UTC)
- :Dear @Benison, I truly appreciate your advice Thankyou! ๐ฎ-๐๐๐๐ถ 05:21, 11 May 2025 (UTC)

Deletion Question
Hello,
In October '24 you deleted a sandbox related to a new page.
I would like to tell you some history about that page and request that you reconsider yoour decision and let me proceed with the draft.
I write about skateboarding history and music (mostly punk and hip-hop). A few years back I attempted to create my first article.
The sandbox draft was removed by admin jsutlettersandnumbers as promotional. After an email discussion, the admin gave me some pointers about how to proceed in compliance with the no-promotion policy.
They returned my draft and I proceeded to work on a very scaled don version. However, the sandbox was still marked as "prmotional despite my continued work. I did not know any way to have that notice removed while I started over.
Is this the notice why the new effort was removed? I want to start froom scratch.
Please reconsider the deletion. If you are willing to let me make another attempt, please help me learn how to remove the promotional tag on the sandbox.
If the tag is not removed, I am concerned that my future efforts to create an article (different subject) will suffer the same fate.
I really appreciate the opportunity to explain all of this. I enjoy editing, look forward to creating an article, and try to devote time to these activities as time allows. Skate history (talk) 16:16, 14 May 2025 (UTC)
:{{u|Skate history}}, as you have been involved in writing promotional material, please first clarify if you are being paid or otherwise compensated to edit Wikipedia, including being asked or expected to do so as a duty of employment or internship. If so, you will need to make the required disclosures before we proceed. Seraphimblade Talk to me 19:23, 14 May 2025 (UTC)
::Thanks for your request. i am not paid or expected to do anything related to Wikipedia. I work independently in a profession absolutely unrelated to any subject matter I've contributed to on Wikipedia. I have never written an article for Wikipedia. I have only practiced within the sandbox related to subject matter which interests me on a personal level. I have worked on providing new information to existing articles for a number of years now. Thanks again for your attention to my concerns related to working on sandbox material going forward. If there is specific subject matter that I have covered which you would like to discuss further, please feel free to let me know. Skate history (talk) 21:23, 14 May 2025 (UTC)
:::So, you are not affiliated with this individual, but you took a photograph of him as a child? I'm not sure that makes sense to me. Seraphimblade Talk to me 21:30, 14 May 2025 (UTC)
::::I did not take the childhood photos. I obtained them over the years and uploaded them. I archive zines and photos and ephemera from the 80's. i have known him since then. My hope was to write articles on several of the notable pros who grew up in my area during the 80s punk scene. I am aslo working on devveloping the skate history of the area. (see: sports section -- last paragraph: Virginia Beach, Virginia. If knowing people I'd like to write about, disqualifies me, then please tell me in advance. I'll move on. I still request that you remove the prmotional block on my sandbox so that I can practice writing articles on other topics. I look forward to your reply. Thanks! Skate history (talk) 22:35, 14 May 2025 (UTC)
:::::One last question -- is there a statement that can be added to a sandbox to help prevent a preemptive removal? In other words, how does one improve their editing ability and retain the practice code without fear of a sudden removal based on what may be rejected later? Thanks again. Skate history (talk) 22:55, 14 May 2025 (UTC)
::::::Well, let's take care of the issue of the photos first. You stated that four photos used in the article were your own work, meaning that you were the photographer. If that's untrue, that will need to be taken care of, since we're telling people that they have the right to reuse them under a CC license. If you weren't the photographer, you aren't able to license them that way. Seraphimblade Talk to me 22:58, 14 May 2025 (UTC)
:::::::I understand -- the two teenage skate photos were taken by me in the '80s. I have shoeboxes full. I do see two photos from the 70s that I simply acquired. I don't mind not using them or any photos. I simply want access to my sandboz at this point without the promo designation. Anyway, would you consider returning the code of the last draft? I would like to use it as a template even if I don't submit the article we are talking about. Please guide me on taking down the childhood art photo and earliest skate photo from wikimedia. Thanks. Skate history (talk) 00:00, 15 May 2025 (UTC)
{{od}} Thanks for clarifying that. I took care of the art class image and the one noted as being from the 1970s and requested deletion of those on Commons (of course, there's no problem with the ones you really did take). As to your questions, no, there is no "statement" you could put on a promotional draft to keep it from being deleted; you will need instead to ensure you write in a neutral tone and don't in any way "talk up" the article subject. Just stick to facts confirmed by reliable and independent sources, don't use any flowery language or puff adjectives, all of that. It is not forbidden to write about a subject you have a personal connection to, but that can be a conflict of interest, and in practice that can make it difficult to stay neutral and stick to what sources confirm rather than any use of your personal knowledge about it, which is why editors with a COI should seek review from editors without one such as through the articles for creation process. But if you're able to do that, then it's not disallowed. That said, I can't put the material back on Wikipedia (it would just get deleted again anyway), but you seem to be acting in reasonably good faith, so I don't mind putting it up for you on a Pastebin or something like that so long as you won't copy it back to Wikipedia as-is. If you'd like me to do that, let me know. Seraphimblade Talk to me 14:34, 15 May 2025 (UTC)
:I appreciate your handling of the older photos and for the effort you spent researching my review request.
:Noted on the inability to guard against any preemptive action related to a practice draft. Pastebin or other alternative would be fine with respect to the removed material which I'd like to use as a reference for future layout practice. Or perhaps a cut and paste into an email might be easier for a return of the material?
:Thanks once again. Skate history (talk) 18:49, 15 May 2025 (UTC)
::Pastebin's easy as anything. I've put it up here: [https://pastebin.com/M6vy0V0V]. Seraphimblade Talk to me 04:15, 16 May 2025 (UTC)
:::Just got it. Note about that version -- I think that was the expanded version that was originally deleted. So I must not have properly loaded or saved my revised on the sandbox. Explains a lot. I'll fix that going forward. Skate history (talk) 15:22, 16 May 2025 (UTC)

Question about deleted article
Hello Seraphimblade, I am messaging to ask about a recent article (User:Izabelle.f/sandbox) I wrote in sandbox that was deleted on May 11, 2025. I posted it about the organization Pink Stairs under my username and in the deletion message it linked to U5 (A non-contributor's misuse of Wikipedia as a web host) and G11 (Unambiguous advertising or promotion). I was wondering if there was anything I can do to fix the article in order to make it work for wikipedia's goals? Thanks. Izabelle.f (talk) 00:08, 19 May 2025 (UTC)
:{{u|Izabelle.f}}, to be frank, it's clear from what you wrote that you're affiliated with the organization. Wikipedia is not for promotion, including any type of "get the word out". Rather, to demonstrate notability, it is necessary to demonstrate that a substantial amount of material written by reliable and independent sources has been written about an organization. The vast majority of organizations would not pass that. In the draft you wrote, you were citing the organization's own material, primarily their own website and Instagram account. For encyclopedia articles, we're not really interested in what an organization says about itself, but rather what reliable sources unaffiliated with it say about it. If the answer to that is "not much at all", an article on the organization is not possible. If you want to "get the word out" about it, you will need to do that in a more appropriate venue, such as the organization's own website and/or social media, since that's not permitted here. Seraphimblade Talk to me 01:44, 19 May 2025 (UTC)
::Oh I see, that's unfortunate. Thanks for clarifying I'll look elsewhere then, much appreciated :) Izabelle.f (talk) 02:28, 20 May 2025 (UTC)
Bhupendra Gurung
Just to point out that an article Bhupendra Gurung that you had speedily deleted in March is back again after being added by a WP:SPA. I noticed it owing to its use of an IMDb link of a type I regularly clean up. IMO it should be speedied again but I can't see the previous version to check if this one is any better. Mike Turnbull (talk) 13:07, 21 May 2025 (UTC)
:{{u|Michael D. Turnbull}}, thanks for the heads up. It was nearly word for word identical as the version created by the prior blocked spammer, so pretty clear block evasion/socking. Seraphimblade Talk to me 18:23, 21 May 2025 (UTC)
