Your recent decisions
Please see the discussion at WP:RS/N regarding your recent additions of a blog as a reliable source (WP:RS). There are multiple issues- 1) blogs are not allowed in Wikipedia as a source. 2) the article is written by some one with a similar name to your user name, creating a possible conflict, self-published articles are not generally allowed. WP:SPS 3) the article encourages its own use in Wikipedia to push an agenda. 4) Original research (WP:OR) by Wikipedians is not allowed, and this seems an end run around our original research policy by pseudo-publishing the OR first. I have linked in my post here the relevant policies and subsections, feel free to comment at the WP:RS/N however I strongly suggest not adding the material in question until discussion has run its course and a decision by community at the noticeboard is made.Camelbinky (talk) 21:11, 9 December 2014 (UTC)

Image:Information.svg Hello, I'm Epicgenius. I noticed that you recently removed some content from :Castle Island (New York) without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; I restored the removed content. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks! :Hello User:Epicgenius, I reverted your good faith revert of Stephmac1981's removal of sourced content because he was following the suggested compromise at the WP:RS/N on what he had originally wanted to do. I'm sorry of the inconvenience and I am grateful you are out here in the trenches making sure sourced content remains in articles from accidental tests or deliberate vandalism.Camelbinky (talk) 00:59, 10 December 2014 (UTC)
::{{reply to|Camelbinky}} Thank you for correcting my mistake; it is appreciated. Epicgenius (talk) 01:41, 10 December 2014 (UTC)
An example of proving "accepted fact" wrong in Wikipedia
An example of how to correctly, without violating Wikipedia policy, correct a false fact stated in an other wise reliable source is what I did at Capital District#Etymology. The Albany Times Union had an article that purported that Capital District came about in the relative past, I think they claimed 1950s. I showed using different sources that predated that when the actual usages were first used. I did not mention any false claims from the newspaper, I did not draw any conclusions of my own from the sources, I simply laid out what individual sources stated, and did not add any commentary. With your love of history I look forward to your additions to this and many other articles.Camelbinky (talk) 01:17, 10 December 2014 (UTC)
