Orphaned non-free image (Image:Ilwis.gif)

Thanks for uploading :Image:Ilwis.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 03:56, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

Uranium ore deposits

Hi, I just wanted to let you know that I've started an article on uranium ore deposits, as part of my pet project to expand ore genesis. You may wish to edit/held/critique or whatever, but also you can add a link to that article on your list of uranium mines. Cheers, Rolinator 09:24, 18 August 2007 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Nfc.jpg

Thanks for uploading :Image:Nfc.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 02:14, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

Recent discussions at WikiProject Mining

Hi, there are some discussions you may want to weigh in on at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Mining about:

  • Naming conventions for multiple mines with the same name
  • Using "Categorty:Metal mine in Country" in community/company articles
  • Capitalizing the word "mine" in article titles

Merger

I've proposed that Nuclear fuel cycle simulation system, Minor actinide property database, Post irradiation examination facilities database, World distribution of uranium deposits database be merged into Integrated nuclear fuel cycle information system, as these articles are unreferenced with minimal content. It's not clear if they are inherently notable enough to warrant stand alone article. If you were planning on expanding and referencing them, let me know. Otherwise, I think I might merge them. Hello

You, being the main contributor to List of uranium mines might be interested in my pet-project to organize, begin and determine lists of missing mines. I've created a userpage User:ncboy2010/mines. Please take a look at that and let me know if there are anything I might be missing. The reason I ask you is because your one of the only other wikipedians who's worked on a list of mines before me. Thorium Energy Alliance

I did not drive by and tag Thorium Energy Alliance. The article is obviously not neutral and there is a question about whether it is notable enough for Wikipedia. I'm neither for or against it myself, though I am familiar with the topic, I'm just interested in balanced articles.--I am One of Many (talk) 19:09, 4 February 2013 (UTC)

[[Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion|Speedy deletion]] nomination of [[:United Nations Framework Classification for Resources]]

{{Quote box|quote=

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

|width=20%|align=right}}

A tag has been placed on :United Nations Framework Classification for Resources requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://www.unece.org/energywelcome/areas-of-work/unfc-and-resource-management/about-unfc-and-sustainable-resource-management.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
