Thanks

I'm Whitey Overton's (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whitey_Overton) grandson. I just wanted to say it's really cool to see that he's on wikipedia, and that I'm thankful you took the time to put him there.

US track and field records

Hi Trackinfo. You marked multiple records as ratified. What's your source? Montell 74 (talk) 16:43, 3 March 2025 (UTC)

:This is actually a couple of months delayed. USA Records are posted in a two layered system. So the Document I posted [https://www.flipsnack.com/USATF/2024pendingopenu20trackandfieldrecords/full-view.html] on the first of that sequence of records is the recommendation for that year submitted by the chairman for that division. At the USATF National meeting, early December, the committee meets on Saturday and anything suspect is discussed across the committee. Most recommendations are accepted and a second, far more oblique report is issued. It just lists Item numbers, or sequences of item numbers like (1-8 approved) 9 rejected . . . I didn't provide a link to that, I just cross-referenced to see the recommendations were approved. The report is [https://www.flipsnack.com/USATF/2024recordsratificationreport/full-view.html]. I hate flipsnack, it's easier to download and read through a normal pdf reader. This process only happens once a year. Trackinfo (talk) 21:39, 3 March 2025 (UTC)
