Can someone please explain why a series of very similar accounts and userpages for Scottish editors, seemingly from a template, were created in a couple of minutes? Is this a university project Acroterion (talk) 11:21, 13 September 2022 (UTC)
:It did indeed originate in a meeting room in the main library, at the University of Edinburgh. It was a basic introduction to Wikipedia, and editing thereof. The University itself is interested in recruiting volunteer editors and contributors to post and maintain records of its various collections. As I was led to understand today, paid University staff are barred from performing this task, under Wikipedia guidelines. I have registered my interest in such a volunteer position, and await a response from the University. If you have any further concerns, you might contact the person who advised us of the programme initially; MagdaGucman@accesstoindustry.co.uk . She is part of a local organisation which provides persons who are looking to improve their skills and employability in various areas, and who, amongst other criteria, are unemployed, or suffer from disability, ill-health, veterans with PTSD, that kind of thing.
