Hyperthymesia
Hi there, Netzachiel. I quite agree with you that Jerome S. Bruner only wrote the foreword to professor A. R. Luria's book, The Mind of a Mnemonist. And yes, it was first published in 1968. But the edition used as ref in the Hyperthymesia article has the 0-674-57622-5 and so was the 1987 edition - the same one listed under "Books" in the Alexander Luria article. I'm not sure if it was revised much between these editions, so I guess we just need to choose which one to use as the ref - unless maybe it's important to show when it was first published? What do you think? Thanks. Martinevans123 (talk) 18:17, 12 January 2015 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of :User:V°cc
A tag has been placed on :User:V°cc requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section U5 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to consist of writings, information, discussions, and/or activities not closely related to Wikipedia's goals. Please note that Wikipedia is not a free web hosting service. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the , or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Eleanor Rigby's "notable" covers under unspecified criteria
File:Information.svg Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be repeatedly reverting or undoing other editors' contributions at :Eleanor Rigby. Although this may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is known as "edit warring" and is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, as it often creates animosity between editors. Instead of reverting, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page.
If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to lose their editing privileges. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, and violating the three-revert rule is very likely to result in loss of your editing privileges. Thank you. Musical genres from third party observers
At List of glam metal bands and artists, you removed Aerosmith because of something a band member said. I wanted to point out that the artist does not have the definitive word on their own genre. Rather, WP:SECONDARY sources (third party observers) such as music critics and musicologists are the ones who define the genre. Two famous examples of artists who are commonly and frequently defined by genres that they refuse to accept are Primus who hates the funk metal label, and Tupac Shakur who repeatedly said he did not create any gangsta rap. So it doesn't change our genre categories if Aerosmith thinks they are not glam metal. Binksternet (talk) 20:40, 21 January 2021 (UTC)
Add a Fact survey and thank you
Thank you for testing out the Add A Fact browser extension! This extension was developed as an experiment by the Future Audiences team at the Wikimedia Foundation to learn about new ways of contributing to Wikipedia from outside of our website/apps.
We are planning to wrap up this experiment this December, sunsetting the extension and publishing our findings on-wiki. We’d like to invite you to take part in an exit survey to tell us more about your experience of trying out the extension, and to share any ideas you have about how to support new ways of contributing to Wikipedia. The survey is anonymous (see the survey privacy statement) and should take about 10–15 minutes to complete.
You can take the Goole Forms survey here.
