Belgol

Hi, I see you've created articles on the the Belgol-class tankers. These should all be at titles in the style of "RFA Foo", not HMS Foo. The {{HMS|Belgol}} article which you created has been nominated for deletion. Please do not move the article while the AfD discussion is ongoing. It can be moved later if kept. I've expanded the article, and it should now survive. Please take a look at the article and the sources used. We are lucky to have the Historical RFA's website to use as a source for writing articles on Royal Fleet Auxiliary ships. Convoyweb has extensive coverage of Convoys during WWII. The Times is a great newspaper source, which can turn up all sorts of information. One last thing, you wrote the article in the neuter gender (the ship, it), as is your right. Personally, I prefer to write in the feminine gender (she, her), as I find it makes for a better flow (e.g. {{MV|Éridan|1928}}). Per established convention, I have not changed this in the Belgol article. As the notice above says, welcome to Wikipedia. I hope you will enjoy it here. Any questions, please ask. Mjroots (talk) 06:16, 3 March 2025 (UTC)

:I MOVED IT, YOU COULD'VE DONE ASWELL, AND ALSO IT GOT EDITED BECAUSE IT'S PUBLIC. Woffio (talk) 06:56, 3 March 2025 (UTC)

::Hey, calm down! There is no need to shout. You're new here, so I'm making allowances per WP:NOOB. Yes, I could have moved the article, but convention is that articles at AfD are not moved while the discussion is ongoing. That is why I didn't move it.

::Moving forward, what are your thoughts on expanding the other Belgol-class tanker articles you created? You've seen what can be done. I can help you with sources, such as those listed at WP:SHIPS/R. If you don't have access to The Times online archive, I can add from that source, after you've done as much as you can from the sources you can access. Mjroots (talk) 08:13, 3 March 2025 (UTC)

:::can you find other sources cuz when i search the ship there's like only the historical website Woffio (talk) 01:34, 4 March 2025 (UTC)

::::like can u give a small list here Woffio (talk) 04:12, 4 March 2025 (UTC)

:how does convoy web work? Woffio (talk) 01:28, 5 March 2025 (UTC)

::You need to enter the convoy code and number into the boxes. For example, enter PQ and 17, click "find convoy" and a link should appear for the [http://www.convoyweb.org.uk/pq/index.html?pq.php?convoy=17!~pqmain convoy's page]. Mjroots (talk) 06:56, 5 March 2025 (UTC)

:::ok thank Woffio (talk) 23:21, 5 March 2025 (UTC)

:Thanks for building new content here, but I don't think that there is enough information out there for all the ships separately. I think that there is enough for the class as a whole (what a busy time they had in 1917!). So, I've merged most of the individual articles back into the class article; most of the content was duplication, and the content is almost entirely sources from a single database. So, I recommend focussing on building and refining the class article. If that gets WP:TOOBIG, the individual ships can be WP:SPLIT from the article. Klbrain (talk) 21:02, 12 May 2025 (UTC)

Ways to improve HMS Nankin

Hello, Woffio,

Thank you for creating HMS Nankin.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

{{Quote|1=This ship is probably notable, but the source "freepages.rootsweb.com" does not appear to be a reliable source, as required by the WP:RS policy.}}

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Noleander}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

Delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.

Hi Woffio. Thank you for your work on Belgol-class tanker. Another editor, Klbrain, has reviewed it as part of new pages patrol and left the following comment:

{{Bq|1=Thanks for creating this class article for a set of 10 tankers. There's clear evidence that 1 of them is independently notable, but for the others, I think that the information we have at present is best tabulated here. The article is rather heavily dependent on one website (https://historicalrfa.uk) and it would helpful to diversify the sourcing. It's certainly a class with a diverse and interesting history.}}

Hi Woffio. Thank you for your work on Wind cannon. Another editor, Klbrain, has reviewed it as part of new pages patrol and left the following comment:

{{Bq|1=Thanks for starting this article, which you've now worked on refining, along with other editors, for some months. It's focussed and clear. More references are of course always helpful. I note that it has already been translated into Arabic!}}

::All articles by (relatively) new editors go through a review process, and yours came to the top of the pile I was working on; luck of the draw! You can find out more about this process at Wikipedia:New pages patrol. Klbrain (talk) 08:06, 13 May 2025 (UTC)

Pemberton-Billing PB.29E

Hi Woffio! Writing to note that I have converted Pemberton-Billing PB.29E into a redirect to Supermarine Nighthawk. This single crashed prototype is fit for that article's background section, rather than as a distinct subject. The existing citations are to an unreliable user-generated Plane Encyclopedia and article from The Aviation Historian that is already used by the Supermarine Nighthawk page to support the same claims. There is no unique content here needing merging and all online sources only briefly refer to this as the progenitor. Feel free to ping me in a reply here if you disagree for further discussion. Have a great day! ViridianPenguin🐧 (💬) 16:57, 14 May 2025 (UTC)
