Proposed deletion of 1990–91 Phoenix Suns season

Image:Ambox warning yellow.svg

The article 1990–91 Phoenix Suns season has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

:Wikipedia is not a sports almanac.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the dated prod notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing dated prod will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Stifle (talk) 12:06, 22 August 2010 (UTC)

Articles for deletion nomination of :1990–91 Phoenix Suns season

I have nominated 1990–91 Phoenix Suns season, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/1990–91 Phoenix Suns season. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Stifle (talk) 12:43, 23 August 2010 (UTC)

NBA infobox

Hi, there. Thanks for fixing the NBA infobox. I just want to let you know that draft pick parameter is now made for the overall pick number instead of the pick number of a particular draft round. Previously, the infobox doesn't make that distinction and that causes some problems. So, it would be great if you can help go through all the player articles and make sure that the draft pick number is correct. Thanks and keep up the good work.—Chris!c/t 22:33, 24 January 2011 (UTC)

:Is there a reason why you remove the statistics and basketball reference link from the infobox like you did here? The statistics is actually good info to have in the infobox.—Chris!c/t 03:31, 29 January 2011 (UTC)

::Sorry about that, I tought the career stats would be covered in the future on the table that's supposed to be in every article. Should I put the stats even for players who appeared in only one game? Let me know and I'll do it right away.Xaviersc (talk) 13:51, 29 January 2011 (UTC)

:::Yes, the career stats is supposed to be covered on the stat table in the future. But unless the table is already included, I think it is good to have the statistics in the infobox. This is actually a good question because I didn't think of this before.—Chris!c/t 21:52, 29 January 2011 (UTC)

Infobox discussion

We are having another discussion on the formatting info on the infobox at Template talk:Infobox NBA biography#Establishing consensus. Since you help update our infobox, I just want to let you know.—Chris!c/t 19:02, 23 March 2011 (UTC)

Templates to display NBA years

Hi, just to let you know that we now have several year-displaying templates that make editing easier. For NBA seasons, 2008 generates 2008. For specific team seasons, 2008 generates 2008. For NBA Finals, 2008 generates 2008. For All-Star Games, 2008 generates 2008.—Chris!c/t 01:15, 6 April 2011 (UTC)

:Thanks! I've been using them, they're really helpful! Xaviersc (talk) 21:30, 6 April 2011 (UTC)

style="border-top: 1px solid gray;" | I've noticed your efforts in converting and updating the NBA/ABA players' infoboxes (a number of the articles I've created have been updated by you). Doing this is time-consuming and repetitive, but the improvements it creates is well worth the effort. A barnstar is in order here. Jrcla2 (talk) 17:49, 20 May 2011 (UTC)

New infobox thing

Hey, I see you've been adding a lot of infoboxes to the basketball articles. Just FYI, there's been a little change to the infobox. The "Career [foo] statistics" line is no longer tied to the "League" parameter. There is now a stats_league parameter that lets you edit the statistics line directly. (See this edit.) This change to the infobox allows more flexibility in cases where a player appeared in leagues beyond the NBA and ABA.

Anyway, just thought I'd let you know. Zagalejo^^^ 06:33, 29 June 2011 (UTC)

Georgi Glouchkov

Just curious, what source were you using for Glouchkov's career history? Zagalejo^^^ 17:35, 5 September 2011 (UTC)

:His profile in the ACB website. The rest (previous to 1984–1985) was already there. Xaviersc (talk) 03:08, 6 September 2011 (UTC)

::Ah, OK. Thanks! Zagalejo^^^ 22:14, 6 September 2011 (UTC)

Tagging NBA articles/templates with Basketball

Hey just a heads up that tagging articles and templates (such as Template:2011–12 Atlanta Hawks season game log) is not within the scope of WP:Basketball. That WikiProject is specific to international basketball, high school basketball, and basketball not found within the auspices of WikiProject College Basketball or WP:NBA. It's double-dipping when NBA templates are also clogging up Basketball categories. Thank you. Jrcla2 (talk) 23:13, 19 December 2011 (UTC)

Olympic events

Please note that articles are not allowed to be left sitting in redlinked (i.e. non-existent) categories. If you want to use a category such as Equestrian at the 1952 Summer Olympics on articles about equestrian events at the Olympics, you need to either create the category immediately, or temporarily apply a higher-level category (e.g. 1952 Summer Olympics) instead of the missing equestrian one — but if the category is a redlink you cannot just walk away from the article and leave it that way, because then it gets picked up as an uncategorized article and creates unnecessary additional work for other people. Thanks. Bearcat (talk) 22:31, 13 May 2012 (UTC)

This is an automated message from VWBot. I have performed a search with the contents of :Athletics at the 1968 Summer Olympics – Men's 110 metres hurdles, and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: :Athletics at the 1968 Summer Olympics – Men's 110 metres hurdles. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally trying to rename an article, please see Help:Moving a page for instructions on how to do this without copying and pasting. If you are trying to move or copy content from one article to a different one, please see Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia and be sure you have acknowledged the duplication of material in an edit summary to preserve attribution history.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. VWBot (talk) 11:11, 13 August 2012 (UTC)

Please reference your new articles.

Hi there, thank you for making the articles on the individual events are past Olympics, but you must be getting your information from a source, so PLEASE put that source in the article as a reference. It doesn't matter if it's another website, the official IOC reports or a book, just write it down so that we don't have to search ourselves. Thanks, The-Pope (talk) 13:08, 13 August 2012 (UTC)

First names for the 1980 French Open mixed doubles

Via IRC someone disputed a certain first name in the 1980 French Open – Mixed Doubles article. The source doesn't give any first names; how did you come by that information? See also Talk:1980 French Open – Mixed Doubles#First names? Huon (talk) 19:40, 24 March 2013 (UTC)
