Proposed deletion of :Vostok Europe

File:Ambox warning yellow.svg

The article :Vostok Europe has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Not notable watch manufacturer, fails WP:NCORP

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the proposed deletion/dated notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing proposed deletion/dated will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Linking of Redhat OpenJDK to Adopt

The sense I get from Redhat's available downloads and migration guides is that they intend to support and develop RedHat OpenJDK on the server side. The windows clients they have available for download are restricted to "Development only" and intended for developers to use for writing against RHEL middleware (seemingly only provided to validate client and server differences from the Oracle OpenJDK implementation). That would indicate that intend to leave the client space to the Adopt OpenJDK project (which AdoptOpenJDK claims they sponsor and host). Thus, I would expect the linking to be as follows:

RedHat OpenJDK for Linux -> RHEL Repository downloads

RedHat OpenJDK for Windows -> https://developers.redhat.com/products/openjdk/download (for development only)

AdoptOpenJDK -> https://adoptopenjdk.net/

But the RedHat OpenJDK is not the same as the AdoptOpenJDK implementation - so the link from the RedHat OpenJDK for windows to AdoptOpenJDK seems incorrect. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jeremyh3 (talkcontribs) 21:58, 8 November 2019 (UTC)

References vs articles to support a claim

You've been around a long time, so I thought I'd drop you a line to explain why I reverted one of your edits to Dive computer. The Manufacturers section has a maintenance template requesting more citations, so it's probably not a good idea to remove one of them. I do understand that most of the time, when we mention a company, we don't externally link to their website, and simply link to their article when it exists. However, that is to allow a reader to find out more about the company if they wish. That's a different concept from supplying a reference to support a claim. In the case where I reverted you, the reference was supporting the claim that HeinrichsWeikamp manufactures dive computers. Their own webpage is not an ideal source, of course, but generally we accept information that companies provide about themselves, as long as it's not unduly promotional or self-serving. The conditions for using a self-published source are laid out at WP:ABOUTSELF. Hope that helps. --RexxS (talk) 23:57, 15 February 2020 (UTC)

Comparison of TFTP software moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Comparison of TFTP software, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Notice of edit warring noticeboard discussion

File:Information icon4.svg

Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a discussion involving you at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring regarding a possible violation of Wikipedia's policy on edit warring. Thank you.

File:Stop hand nuvola.svg Your recent editing history at :CentOS shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

My only action is to remind you to observe Wikipedia's guideline at WP:TALK which describes the correct usage of talk pages:

 1. New posts are supposed to go at the *bottom*, so I had to undo your rearrangement.
 2. There is no justification for removing others' posts unless they are vandalism.
 3. Also, please be sure to WP:SIGN your own posts on talk.
