You said this is the origonal reasearch about the zombies from the Zombie Disscussion Page right? I know about that, but in order for zombification to occur the corpse has to be 13 hours or less old and the brian to be fully intact. Well if you get this chat me back okay? Another consideration is I have a very low opinion of Turtledove and Stirling as the one book I read (or tried to read in the second case) had severe credibility issues for me. ...but I'm probably not fit to wear the badge. I'm just a wiki surfer, who occasionally makes small changes when they seem obviously necessary. I don't have the time to be a serious contributor. A quick look at my contribs will show you just how much thought I put into my average edit and how long I stay on one general subject area.

There are no other nations listed in the "future" section. In the "past and present" sections, every entry is about domination through military force. The China section, however, is nothing but a list of economic growth indicators, without even the slightest suggestion that these might be converted into political domination. Hi ZHF. I am curious as to why you undid the addition I made to the list of alternate history novles. Clive Egleton series is an alternate history with divergence in late 1960s although precise time of divergence is not identified.

I don't see anything wrong with an article -- or many, for that matter -- about various (to me, crackpot) ideas about The End of the World Is At Hand. Thanks for your comment on my talk page about WDF. In some ways, I see your point, but in others I don't. You mention an article of the kind that the no-crystal-ball policy prohibits, Weapons to be Used in World War III. Consider:

1. Article 1 where I write that ray guns and death rays will be used, that giant robots will wander through towns and cities smashing buildings and troops, that anti-gravity equipped aircraft will hover over enemy troops and drop K-bombs ("K for Killer"). I even put in lots of references to various SF stories and Japanese anime for these ideas plus some stuff about giant mutated bees.

2. Article 2 decribes what the Rand Corporation, a major think-tank, has published about weapons of the future; I also cite pulically available documents from the US Armed Forces about their plans to develop new weapon systems, and I discuss and summarize a book written by a military historian about war in the forthcoming century, plus other stuff.

Aha, you say -- both are easy. They BOTH violate WP:NOT!

3. Article 3 tells us what various writers and futurologists have said about future war and politics. It too cites references.

And again you say, "No, look, Tim, I can see you're being honest or something, but please understand -- articles about the future all violate WP:NOT."

I think you can see my point. WDF is not a perfect article, but, to me, it has more in common with #2 and #3 than with #1. Or are you perhaps engaged in a turf war with its author and you want your own futurological ideas to be the only ones acceptable on Wiki?

Remember, I encountered this article quite at random and no vested interest in it or in the subject. But for that very reason I think that it has some valuable things to say about how various writers have visualized the future. So I recommend keeping it, editing out some of the unreferenced stuff, and adding missing references.

I don't know of any other sources that could help, but the ones you have look fine. I just realized I had deleted the article off my watchlist at some point (I think it was back in August when some vandal moved a bunch of pages I had been watching, making a good number of redlinks), so hopefully it's not too late to compliment you for taking the initiative with the article's expansion. :Since nothing on the list is sourced, it's fairly arbitrary to simply remove a gaggle of titles for being "uncited". Wikipedia's policy does not require every fact to have a citation, only those that editors have specific doubts about and wish to challenge (see Wikipedia:Citing sources#When adding material that is challenged or likely to be challenged), and even then an editor should put a "citation needed" rather than immediately deleting the information unless they are very confident that the info is incorrect (see Wikipedia:Verifiability#Burden of evidence, specifically the sentence 'editors may object if you remove material without giving them sufficient time to provide references'). But again, please don't put "citation needed" unless you do have actual reasons to doubt specific titles, otherwise you're creating a lot of pointless busywork. Hey, I know that I should have a reference, but the thing is - I only used the BBC website to find out how many zombie attendees we had to beat in Nottingham, and I later decided I didn't need that as that's in the other records listed above. Everything you see on the article is from my own knowledge as I was at the event, so I don't think I need a reference!

Not a problem, I blocked those IPs that have edited the article for 6 months, protected the article for 6 months, and another admin placed a rangeblock on that university for three hours. In the future a quicker response could have come from reporting the IP to WP:AIV or requesting protection at WP:RFPP. The reference to IMDB.COM is false.

"Weird Al" Yankovic - the article on this Wiki - also has an reference to a newspaper which doesn't contain any reference about his nationality being anything but American.
