History

The intent to construct a temple was announced by church president Russell M. In January 2025, a small group of residents went to the city council to oppose the temple's construction citing environmental concerns based on their belief that the construction would affect migratory bird patterns. The city determined that the temple would not cause any environmental concerns or negatively impact wildlife. On March 10, 2025, the church announced approval and necessary permits to begin early construction had been granted. On May 27, 2025, the church announced that a groundbreaking ceremony would be held on August 23, 2025 with Mark A.
