Biography
A graduate of Columbia College (1918){{cite book |url=https://books.google.com/books?id=gh8ZAAAAYAAJ&pg=PA339 |title=Catalogue |publisher=Columbia University |page=339 |date=March 9, 1918 |accessdate=February 9, 2014 }} and the General Theological Seminary in New York (1914),{{cite book |url=https://books.google.com/books?id=gOtJAAAAMAAJ&pg=PA101 |title=The General Theological Seminary Catalogue |publisher=Chelsea Square |location=New York |year=1914 |page=101 }} he was consecrated on February 24, 1936.{{cite book |title=The order of service for the consecration of the Reverend Vedder Van Dyck as a bishop in the church of God |year=1936 |oclc=12429135 }} His consecrators were James DeWolf Perry, Henry Knox Sherrill and John T.
