Venus Anadyomene is an oil painting by the French artist Théodore Chassériau, from 1828.Muesham p.401 It depicts the classical scene of Venus Anadyomene, showing the Goddess Venus rising from the sea. It appeared at the Salon of 1839, where it was a popular success and along with Susanna at her Bath established the young artist's reputation.Murray p.168 Today the painting is in the Louvre in Paris, having been acquired in 1920.[https://collections.louvre.fr/en/ark:/53355/cl010063640 Louvre]
