Career

Koval represented Russia at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, where she competed for the women's half-middleweight class (63 kg). Unfortunately, she lost the first preliminary match to Netherlands' Elisabeth Willeboordse, who successfully scored a yuko and a morote gari (two hand reap) at the end of the five-minute period.{{cite web |title=Women's Half Middleweight (63kg/139 lbs) Preliminaries |url=http://www.2008.nbcolympics.com/judo/resultsandschedules/rsc=JUW063506/index.html |publisher=NBC Olympics |accessdate=3 January 2013 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20120821093233/http://www.2008.nbcolympics.com/judo/resultsandschedules/rsc=JUW063506/index.html |archive-date=21 August 2012 |url-status=dead}}
