The Vickers Hydravion (No.14) was a British seaplane built by Vickers in the early 1910s.

Design

The Hydravion was a large seaplane of biplane configuration, which relied on the design philosophy of Henri Farman by utilizing a pusher engine and the tail being supported on outrigger booms. Only one seaplane version was built, and it crashed at Dartford during early tests.{{cite book |last1=Andrews |first1=C.F |last2=Morgan |first2=E.B. |title=Vickers aircraft since 1908 |date=1988 |publisher=Putnam |location=London |isbn=0-85177-815-1 |pages=42–43 |edition=New.}}{{cite book |last1=Tagg |first1=Michael H. |title=British aircraft before the Great War |date=2001 |publisher=Schiffer Pub |location=Atglen, PA |isbn=978-0764312076 |page=321}}

A later version of the Hydravion, the Vickers No. 14B, would have had two {{cvt|100|hp|0}} Gnome 9 Delta engines in tandem configuration buried in the fuselage, driving tractor propellers as well as a nose-mounted {{cvt|37|mm|3}} semi-automatic cannon.
