Design and development

The aluminum block Viking 110 has electronic ignition and multi-port fuel injection. It was introduced in 2009 and is based upon the 2009 model Honda Fit automotive engine. It produces {{convert|110|hp|kW|0|abbr=on}} through a mechanical gear reduction drive with helical gears, with a reduction ratio of 2.33:1. A Warp Drive Inc propeller is recommended. The design was later developed into the Viking 130, producing {{convert|130|hp|kW|0|abbr=on}} and which replaced the 110 in production.{{cite web|url= https://www.vikingaircraftengines.com/viking-130-engine|title= Viking 130|access-date= 2 March 2021|author= Viking Aircraft Engines|work= vikingaircraftengines.com|archive-url= https://web.archive.org/web/20200728023544/https://www.vikingaircraftengines.com/viking-130-engine|archive-date= 28 July 2020|url-status= live}}{{cite web|url= https://www.bydanjohnson.com/video/vikings-110-hp-engine/|title= Viking’s 110-hp Engine|access-date= 2 March 2021|last= Johnson|first= Dan|work= bydanjohnson.com|date= 19 August 2016|archive-url= https://web.archive.org/web/20210117093052/https://www.bydanjohnson.com/video/vikings-110-hp-engine/|archive-date= 17 January 2021|url-status= live}}
