Early life

Viraat was born in Mysore, Karnataka and had a passion for acting since his childhood. Even while pursuing his bachelors, Viraat enrolled himself in Rangayana, the theatre group in Mysore. He was trained in the institute which resulted up in him making stage appearances in as many as 35 plays. This experience landed him in to feature the lead role in the television series Jothe Jotheyali which aired more than 250 episodes.

Career

After completing his tele-series, Viraat tried his luck to work in films and approached few directors. Impressed by A. P. Arjun's debut film, Addhuri, he made several attempts to meet Arjun and was instead spotted by his mother who recommended his name for his next film's audition. Eventually Viraat was finalized out of 200 other candidates to play the lead role in Kiss (2019). Arjun, besides directing the film also produced it under his A. P. Arjun Films. Viraat was paired opposite Sree Leela who also made her debut. The film released to mixed reviews from critics and became a commercial success at the box office with its 100 days successful run.{{Cite web|url=https://bangaloremirror.indiatimes.com/entertainment/south-masala/kiss-crosses-100th-day-milestone/articleshow/74183010.cms|title=Kiss Movie: Viraat, Sree Leela-starrer Kiss crosses 100th day milestone|access-date=2025-01-17|archive-date=2022-07-15|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20220715201652/https://bangaloremirror.indiatimes.com/entertainment/south-masala/kiss-crosses-100th-day-milestone/articleshow/74183010.cms|url-status=live}} Viraat received favorable responses from critics for both his acting and dancing skills.{{Cite web|url=https://www.cinemaexpress.com/reviews/kannada/2019/sep/29/kiss-kannada-movie-review-an-youthful-but-unduly-stretched-affair-14588.html|title=Kiss (Kannada) Movie Review: An youthful but unduly stretched affair|date=29 September 2019|work=Cinema Express|first=A.|last=Sharadhaa|access-date=17 January 2025|archive-date=4 October 2020|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20201004082613/https://www.cinemaexpress.com/reviews/kannada/2019/sep/29/kiss-kannada-movie-review-an-youthful-but-unduly-stretched-affair-14588.html|url-status=live}}He was nominated at the SIIMA Awards under Best Debut actor category.{{Cite web |date=20 August 2021 |title=SIIMA Awards 2021 Nominations: The Award Ceremony To Be Held In Hyderabad On September 11, 12 |url=https://news.abplive.com/entertainment/siima-awards-2021-nominations-south-indian-international-movie-awards-asuran-kumbalangi-nights-maharshi-1477353 |access-date=19 September 2021 |website=news.abplive.com |language=en |archive-date=22 August 2021 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20210822052837/https://news.abplive.com/entertainment/siima-awards-2021-nominations-south-indian-international-movie-awards-asuran-kumbalangi-nights-maharshi-1477353 |url-status=live }}
