Background

Alex Karalexis was expected to face debuting Chinese prospect Tiequan Zhang at this event, but was removed because of an injury{{cite web| url=http://www.mmafighting.com/2010/09/07/alex-karalexis-out-of-wec-51-bout-against-tiequan-zhang/| title= Alex Karalexis Out of WEC 51 Bout Against Tiequan Zhang| publisher=mmafighting.com| date=September 7, 2010}} and replaced by UFC veteran Jason Reinhardt.
