The WIDE Project (Widely Integrated Distributed Environment) is an Internet project in Japan founded by Keio University, Tokyo Institute of Technology, and The University of Tokyo that was started in 1985."WIDE : Press Release: Jun Murai Is Promoted to Founder of WIDE Project." WIDE aims to integrate academia and industry in a single group that overcomes lines between organizations as an autonomous force utilizing new technologies for a better society. The president is Jun Murai, a professor of Keio University SFC. DNS operation
