History

The station was assigned the call letters WNKV on April 10, 1985;{{cite web|url=https://licensing.fcc.gov/cgi-bin/ws.exe/prod/cdbs/pubacc/prod/call_hist.pl?Facility_id=49401&Callsign=WKXH |title=WKXH Call Sign History |work=United States Federal Communications Commission, audio division }} it signed on August 1. On June 6, 1998, the station changed its call sign to the current WKXH.

In February 2025, Bruce James agreed to sell the seven Vermont Broadcast Associates stations to Green Mountain Broadcasters, owned by Vermont state senator Russ Ingalls, for $996,000.
