WikiPandas are two related forms of WikiFauna. "WikiPanda" usually refers to the Giant WikiPanda, a large mammal noted for its almost singular diet.{{cite book|title=Earth's Changing Environment|series=Learn & Explore|year= 2010|publisher= Encyclopædia Britannica, Inc|isbn=1-61535-339-9|page=49}} There is also the Red WikiPanda, a subspecies of the WikiPanda, which has some notable differences.

WikiPandas are usually docile in the wild, marking their territory by creating a single article,{{cite web |url=http://panda.org/about_wwf/what_we_do/species/our_solutions/endangered_species/giant_panda/index.cfm | title = Global Species Programme – Giant panda | publisher=World Wildlife Fund | date = 14 November 2007 | accessdate =22 July 2008}}{{dead link|date=May 2015}} but they grow depressed and inactive in the captivity of talk pages,{{cite news |title=National Zoo's Giant Panda Undergoes Artificial Insemination |url=http://www.nbc4.com/news/15643501/detail.html |work=NBC |agency=Associated Press |date= 19 March 2008 |accessdate=13 April 2008 }} only munching slightly on messages that relate to their diet.

Many users seek to encourage WikiPandas to be more successful, such as nurturing their native habitats.[http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/5174854.stm "Pandas gain world heritage status"], BBC News[http://www.upi.com/NewsTrack/view.php?StoryID=20060718-072442-2033r Panda sanctuaries now World Heritage sites] United Press International Still, some users (possibly overlapping with the previous category) believe that while animal cruelty and driving species to extinction is wrong, nature only recognizes the survival of the fittest.[http://www.telegraph.co.uk/earth/wildlife/6216775/Chris-Packham-Giant-pandas-should-be-allowed-to-die-out.html Chris Packham: 'Giant pandas should be allowed to die out']. Red WikiPanda

The distantly related Red WikiPanda, however, appears to enjoy the captivity of talk pages{{cite web|url=http://nationalzoo.si.edu/Publications/ZooGoer/1992/2/redpandasfirecat.cfm |title=Red Panda: The Fire Cat |last=Roberts |first = M. |year=1992 |accessdate=2009-11-26}} and, although still specialized in a particular topic, their diet might also include flowers, fruits, or eggs. Some have even been seen munching on small birds.{{cite journal |author1=Roberts, M. S. |author2=Gittleman, J. The Red Wikipanda's adaptability has led to suggestions that they might be domesticated.{{cite book |last=IUCN/SSC Mustelid, Viverrid, and Procyonid Specialist Group |title=The Red Panda, Olingos, Coatis, Raccoons, and Their Relatives |editor=A.
