History

In 2006, WVON, which had long operated on 1450 AM, moved to 1690 AM. The WRLL callsign, which had been held by the original station on 1690 AM, "Real Oldies 1690", was shifted to 1450. Initially simulcasting WVON, on September 3, 2007, the station adopted a Spanish-language format called "Radio Latino"."[https://www.allaccess.com/net-news/archive/story/29208/wrll-chicago-sets-flip-to-spanish WRLL/Chicago Sets Flip To Spanish]", All Access. August 23, 2007. Retrieved April 15, 2023.
Until 2021, WRLL shared the 1450 kHz frequency with brokered ethnic station WCEV. After WCEV shut down and had its license cancelled, WRLL gained full control over the frequency, allowing it to become a 24-hour station on October 18, 2021.{{cite news |last1=Feder |first1=Robert |author1-link=Robert Feder |title=Robservations: Melissa McGurren sues The Mix; fourth woman targets Eric Ferguson; Rick Party joins 104.3 JAMS |url=https://www.robertfeder.com/2021/10/15/robservations-melissa-mcgurren-sues-mix-fourth-woman-targets-eric-ferguson-rick-party-joins-104-3-jams/ |access-date=October 15, 2021 |work=robertfeder.com |date=October 15, 2021}}
