Lines
Wadayama Station is served by the San'in Main Line, and is located 119.0 kilometers from the terminus of the line at {{STN|Kyoto|x}}. It is also the northern terminus of the 65.7 kilometer Bantan Line from {{STN|Himeji|x}}.

History
Wadayama Station opened on April 1, 1906. With the privatization of the Japan National Railways (JNR) on April 1, 1987, the station came under the aegis of the West Japan Railway Company.
