Wade Randolph Hampton

Wade Randolph Hampton, professionally known as W,{{Cite web |title=Wade Randolph Hampton |url=https://festforums.com/speaker-detail/wade-randolph-hampton |access-date=2024-12-12 |website=FestForums |language=en-US}} also known as WishFM), is an American DJ, film and music producer, and recording artist.

Career

In 1987, Hampton and mentor Kerry Jaggers opened the nightclub, Westend, in Austin. He moved to Chicago a year later, before relocating to Los Angeles.[https://www.chicagotribune.com/1991/11/06/the-rave-its-drop-dead-dancing-and-dancing-till-you-drop/ Chicago Tribune], November 6, 1991

While in Los Angeles and later in San Francisco, Hampton became involved in the West Coast rave scene. Hampton was also the Music Supervisor for the 2006 film TV Junkie,[https://archive.today/20141002233636/http://wwwdb.oscars.org:8100/servlet/impc.NameCredits?vetted=T&name_in=HAMPTON,~WADE] which won the ‘Special Grand Jury Prize for a Documentary’ at the Sundance Film Festival.

Personal life

Hampton grew up in Dallas, Texas. He currently resides in Los Angeles and has a son from his relationship with Stephanie Smiley.
