During 2006, the Waha fields produced around {{convert|350000|oilbbl|m3}} per day, down from around {{convert|1|Moilbbl/d|m3/d|abbr=on}} in 1969 and {{convert|400000|oilbbl/d|m3/d|abbr=on}} in 1986.{{fact|date=April 2021}} However, WOC expects to increase Waha output by around {{convert|200000|oilbbl/d|m3/d|abbr=on}} over the next couple of years. In 2005, ConocoPhillips and co-venturers reached an agreement with NOC to both return to its operations in Libya and to extend the Waha concession by another 25 years. ConocoPhillips operates the Waha fields with a 16.33% share in the project. NOC has the largest share of the Waha concession at 59.17%, and additional partners include Marathon Oil (16.33%), and Amerada Hess (8.17%).{{cite journal |title=Libya Energy Data, Statistics and Analysis: Oil, Gas, Electricity, Coal |work=Energy Information Administration (EIA) |date=July 24, 2007 |url=https://www.eia.gov/beta/international/analysis_includes/countries_long/Libya/archive/pdf/Libya_2012.pdf |access-date=25 August 2019 |page=1-10 |publisher=United States Department of Energy}}
