Waterford Kamhlaba United World College of Southern Africa (WKUWCSA) is an educational institution outside Mbabane, Eswatini. It is one of 18 international schools and colleges in the United World Colleges educational movement.
Waterford was the first school in southern Africa open to children and youth of all colours. It was started in direct opposition to the apartheid regime in neighboring South Africa. Waterford Kamhlaba was established by Michael Stern in 1963. The school's mission was similar to the philosophy of the UWC movement, and Waterford became the fourth member school of the UWC movement in 1981.{{Cite web |title=History |url=https://www.waterford.sz/about/history/ |accessdate=2021-08-18}}{{Cite book |last=Hatton |first=Tony |title=Phoenix Rising A Memoir of Waterford Kamhlaba's Early Years |publisher=Kamhlaba Publishing |year=2013 |isbn=978-0-620-55588-3 |location=Mbabane, Swaziland |language=English}}{{Cite web |last=Linden |first=Mike |title=Waterford Kamhlaba UWCSA: The Early History |url=https://static1.squarespace.com/static/5c65dd81af46834afd07e40a/t/5edb84e2dd727a3b48fc8b9a/1591444721906/lives+retold+stern+michael+2.pdf}} The campus was originally designed by Portuguese architect Pancho Guedes, who agreed to work with the school's founding team pro-bono, and would later enroll his children at the school.{{Cite web |title=Lives Retold: Michael Stern |url=https://static1.squarespace.com/static/5c65dd81af46834afd07e40a/t/6095207d8f0a221893c621bb/1620385929096/lives+retold+stern+michael.pdf |page=7}}{{Cite web |title=History {{!}} Waterford Kamhlaba United World College Southern Africa - (WKUWCSA) |url=https://www.waterford.sz/about/history/ |access-date=2024-12-23 |website=www.waterford.sz}}{{Cite web |title=GUEDES, Amancio d’Alpoim Miranda (Pancho) |url=https://www.artefacts.co.za/main/Buildings/archframes.php?archid=2352 |access-date=2024-12-23 |website=www.artefacts.co.za}}{{Cite web |title=The famous school that Nelson Mandela, Desmond Tutu, and Walter Sisulu’s children attended |url=https://businesstech.co.za/news/lifestyle/823402/the-famous-school-that-nelson-mandela-desmond-tutu-and-walter-sisulus-children-attended/ |access-date=2025-05-11 |language=en-US}}
